Blood Bonds
nettie-alford15 July 2017
Laura Benanti is brilliant as Alura/Astra. And the chemistry between Kara and Cat is interesting and a little confusing, I can understand now why people are shipping them. The story is good, but they need to do something better with the continuity, Cat is a fashion maven, there's no way that she wouldn't know that Kara is Supergirl, her nail polish and earrings don't change and how is it that a Kryptonian has pierced ears anyway, her skin is bulletproof?

Good very good

Warning: Spoilers
A good episode of transition. The part with Kara is very good as usual, wether it's the part with cat grant and the part with Astra. Astra's histoiry in this episode was depicted in a good way. Non is becoming I Avery good character too. Maxwell lord is the real bad guy,he is the one that doesn't't give a **** about human or aliens. From the arm of red Tornado he is exprimenting on a human called Doe. Non is also very dangerous killing an alien only with one hand. Henk has revealed his true identity to Kara. Winn and Jimmy relationship is becoming very interesting I almost forgot, the exchanges via email between Kara and Clark are as always emotionnal.

Kinda fun, but got cringey and lame fast

Warning: Spoilers
This episode could definitely be entertaining at times, surely. Like other episodes of this show, it's cheesy and clichéd enough to be amusing, and for a while there I was actually really enjoying myself. But as you start getting near the end, ugh. The stereotypical, clichéd evil military guy was bad enough. It got even worse when it started preaching ultra-simplistic, see-the-good-in-everyone idealism. Obviously, I'm not saying I believe in torture or whatever, but it just felt a little naive, and whole thing was way too black-and-white.

The subplot of Cat Grant figuring out Kara's secret identity, and how that was resolved, was pretty good. So yeah, it had some good aspects...but even the good aspects really weren't THAT good, certainly not good enough to make up for the cringe-inducing stuff.

Wow

WOW what a step down in quality!!

Plot In A Paragraph: A standoff ensues between the DEO and Astra's forces also Non kidnaps Hank, while Kara (Mellisa Benoist) tries to refute Cat's (Calsita Flockhart) allegations that she's Supergirl.

From one of the best episodes, to one of the most cliché and lame.

This episode highlights all the worst parts of this show, and after a stellar few episodes, that's such a shame.

After revealing she knew Kara was Supergirl, Calista Flockharts' Cat Grant is surprisingly sidelined into almost comic relief!! And that's a waste as she is the best thing in the show.

Degrading US Army General
MajorBaleegh16 December 2017
This is a strange to see that at one place a three-star US Army General is commanding the entire scenario of war in Afghanistan and on the other in this episode a four-star General is commanding a couple of soldiers and trying to rescue a director of a specialized government agency. Either the four-star generals are out of work in US or they are too many to be employed anywhere and that's why they are utilized at the jobs of Captains or Majors. In our country a four-star general command the entire army of a country and in the US the four-stars are just commanding a couple of soldiers and are going on rescue mission, give me a break. This is the real degrading of senior most rank of military infrastructure by employing the highest rank of army on the jobs related to either a sergeant or may be a Captain not even a major. At least put some reality in your shows to make it looks closer to real.
