It's like Star VS FOE but not! :)
camiacono27 December 2016
A hyper active preteen girl with powers and an responsible male friend in JR high....Now don't that just sound a bit familiar? It's likely that this pilot was turned down was it's strong similarities to Star VS the forces of evil which could make this seem like a rip-off and due to the fact that that show is owned by Disney which is a strong company to fight if they threatened legal-action. But through the ages their have been many Franchises that have either shared core ideas or had strong similarities to other properties: Bugs life and Antz, Pokémon and Digimon, Star wars and star trek the list goes on and on. Though those types of things aren't as common as they used to be out side of the monstrosities that are they Straight to DVD Mock-busters. Now this pilot is far from those Mock-busters and is not a rip off, it just happens to have similarities to Star but it's not a rip off at all. For starters the designs of the characters and settings are different from the art they use for star, Reggie's power can only be used at party island, and where Stars power's come from magic spells Reggie is mentioned to have omnipotent like power on her island. Star's moral is to accept responsibility while still being true to yourself 12 forever's moral is has to do with growing up. And the fact that it seems to be going for a less plot heavy focus show is also a big difference. It said that this is a failed pilot but in reality there is a chance that it with be picked, and I sure do hope so.

Warning: Spoilers
Going to go ahead and mark this as spoilers in case anyone hasn't actually seen the show's pilot. If you haven't, I highly recommend it.

OK wow, just wow. First of all, what the hell was CN thinking passing up this animated short; only to green light super boobs and have that absolute garbage be canceled in under TWO MONTHS.

The show has very flat and interesting comic book art style dynamics when it takes place in the real world, versus the eye popping gorgeous settings when transported to 12's 'Party Island.'12 or Reggie: A wild, and misunderstood main character who is reckless, yet admirable and leaves room for plot development as she begins learning how to accept growing up.(A real lesson for the kids other than this mindless crap they currently run )Shane: A thoughtful, mediator as her best friend to keep her from getting into too much trouble. And not to mention the strikingly interesting aspects of the main antagonist we still know very little about (even her actual name), the Butt Witch. Would attract many viewers 10-14 considering how accurately it depicts and connects with most children that age. It's also claimed by viewers to be quite nostalgic to the 80's with the choice of back round music and scenery, which could also help it connect to older audiences. Personally, I love the voice acting, as well as the character designs and mundane settings. So much potential, so much creativity, and so much time wasted leaving this show in the 'animated shorts' gallows to rot..

I hope when CN panics after SU ends and their ratings skyrocket into the toilet, they can look back and give this show and its creator what they rightfully deserve: A chance.

Best Pilot Before CN Removed because of Netflix ever made
ArditB00613 March 2023
You should watch this pilot on youtube, it's such a fun pilot, it's from an animator that worked on Yo Gabba Gabba, the pilot is much more fun just like OK KO's Lakewood Plaza Turbo (2013) Pilot, the reason why i loved this pilot is Shane because he was supposed to be in the netflix series but Julia Vickerman Had forgot about him after she replace him with Todd, Shane could've made a cameo in the Netflix series if only Julia Vickerman didn't even forgot about him, and Of course, Mack & Beefhouse which were kept in the netflix series, that's why i love twelve forever's pilot FOREVER!

So i suggest you watch the pilot first and then watch the netflix series, mine's i've watched the whole series including that, and it was endlessly fun.
