Typically sloppy Frisco porn: Kirk-style
lor_14 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Having seen many Bob Kirk films (randomly) I'm still waiting for a watchable one. MAGIC FINGERS, recently given a DVD release by Alpha Blue Archives and added to IMDb, is just another clunker from the Bay Area auteur.

This time Kirk shows up in a leading role as a magician, appearing in a puff of smoke behind his desk to address the viewer, presenting a day in his life. He recites drivel, sounding like a sketch on SNL, conducting interviews for a stage assistant and secretary. Transitions in the movie are achieved by a hand gesture and a puff of smoke.

First sex vignette is a foursome, with trading partners, featuring Joey Silvera and Sharon Thorpe. Gimmick is the magician hypnotizes girls (for sex). Then there's a lesbian scene with Sharon, which becomes a threesome. When the magician has sex we don't see his face, so presumably the director used a double for humping.

Frisco regular Pharoah Amos appears in a puff of smoke and gets to hump a light-skinned Black girl for contrasting skin tones. Amos is another magician who wants to go off on his own, but our magician doesn't like that idea so he turns Amos into a bunny rabbit with a puff of smoke. With the so-called narrative thread shot, Kirk keeps on talking -he doesn't know when to quit in this obvious ego trip. Listening to the dialog I thought his name was Zarak but the intrepid IMDb filer identifies him as Zorat instead.

With improvised dialog, this amateurish charade is just par for the course, but perhaps the maestro knew how crappy it was, since their is no director credit or signature plea (usually at the end) for us hapless viewers to watch out for the next Bob Kirk movie coming to a theater. I'm glad none of his stuff ever came to the Adult theaters I attended (East Coast) back in the day.
