Don't blow it

Warning: Spoilers
Part 2 is going to pick up the pace of this episode pretty fast. With their covers blown, Starsky and Hucth hide out with another passenger who is also pretending to be someone she is not. They have finally discovered that the ship is being used as a meeting place for a bunch of crime bosses. Before they can decide what to do, they are captured, along with their female friend.

Things take a very serious turn when the main crime boss double-crosses all the others and leaves the ship with bombs planted to kill them, and everyone else. Starsky and Hutch have less than 20 minutes to find three bombs and get them off the ship. I will grant you that it's highly unlikely that two guys can find three bombs hidden on a cruise ship in 20 minutes, having absolutely no idea where they might be. However, it is still suspenseful to watch them actually do it. The whole process they go through to safely move the bombs from below decks to above is fascinating to watch - a nice bit of choreography for PMG and DS as they work together. My favorite part about that series of scenes is that they resist the urge to talk. Instead of discussing who is going to do what or how to do anything, they just work in tandem with quiet intensity. That was really smart on someone's part to not have PMG and DS talking a lot through those scenes. Just because of the way that was done so nicely and smartly, I pushed my rating from a 7 to an 8.

So Starsky and Hutch have saved the ship and the passengers. They still need to get the crime boss. This means leaving the ship and chasing him down in a dune buggy; I guess we didn't want to miss out on our requisite car chase. Which was OK, because it was a fun car chase, and this episode has left me quite satisfied.

When they are carrying the bombs up from the engine room, it shows Hutchinson starting up the steps, b ut when the first of them gets to the top it is Starsky!!
