Roberta (Marie Brassard) lives a secure but boring existence in suburban Canada. To spice matters up she downs amphetamines and is soon dancing with her vacuum cleaner and leaping about the small backyard, much to the growing concern of her grandson.
Director Caroline Monnet has made a tight little short that would have little problem extending to a lengthier examination of this woman under the influence. Brassard's brief and mostly silent performance has legs and Monnet's telling editing keeps matters buoyant with a slight sense of both comic and suspense that keeps matters lively for such a sedate setting. A short and sweet dark comedy.
