Worst Movie Ever
alad-7339216 July 2015
I guess the other reviewers for this movie must be friends with the cast by their great reviews. This was one of the worst movies if not the worst movie ever..Just look at the budget, that says it all..Don't waste your time..I never would have even submitted a review, but after reading The great reviews the others gave I had to see for myself..One person Put it with equal par to The Godfather..This is the biggest insult anyone could say...This is just some dumb movie someone shot in their Backyard with some of their friends who obviously don't know how to act..it's the same old same old we've all seen before with a bunch of kids going to the country for the weekend in s secluded cabin..I was expecting and waiting for some crazies to horrify them..it never happened This movie was so bad I just had to let everyone know..I've seen better Entertainment at a 1 year old's birthday part...

A Cinematic Masterpiece
CanyonHunter23 January 2015
Schindler's List, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather... there is a new film that can join the ranks of the elite, and it is called 'Death By Tights'.

This cinematic masterpiece, which apparently took 5 years to shoot, is an emotional joyride from start to finish. I experienced a sense of existential wonder as I watched this film, and I began to question the whole reality that I live in.

The story is a simple, universal story that we can all relate to. Five teenagers finish high school, get drunk and are attacked by a bunch of men in stockings. The symbolism and allegories to biblical times, Marvel comics, the second World War, the Antichrist, divine spiritual enlightenment, and the Kool Aid man are so poignant, clever, and surprising.

I cried during the final scene, and I will not spoil it for you, but the ending is touching and also strangely comedic. It was also generally terrifying throughout the whole time, and it felt like it went for four minutes.

So if you want to see an excellent celebration of cinematic excellence, watch Death By Tights. You will not be disappointed.

Death by tights - a movie to last the ages
dale-258-2714778 March 2015
An unbelievable performance for all involved, exspecially to Ethan Lane, played by James Mehmed, an outstanding performance!! The title does not do it justice, this is one of the most horrifying movies of the the year. To put the movie in the same category as the godfather, shawshank redemption, schindlers list and pulp fiction would be and understatement!! The theory of everything by Steven king won a golden globe for best actor, however if the movie "Death By Tights" got the same coverage, James Mehmed would have surely surpassed Eddie Redmayme to claim best actor, an outstanding performance. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time not sure what to expect, making me jump at unexpected time scaring the Bejesus out of me! Could not recommend this Movie high enough!!!

Super scary!
yingtangwong23 January 2015
Saw this at the premiere! If you want a spine-tingling, have-to-clean-up-your-pants, new-age horror affair, this is the film for you! I will definitely be re-watching this! Great acting all round, great story, scary from start to finish! I had no idea what was going to happen - I literally had no idea what was going on half the time! But it was great! Super scary stuff. Would definitely recommend for any fan of horror.

It starts off innocently enough. Five friends, who've just finished high school, ready to go on a 'schoolies' adventure. That is, the Australian tradition of excessive alcohol consumption after Year 12 finishes. But once they get to their getaway, there is an evil presence amiss, and it starts to haunt them, and pick them off one by one!

It's a classic slasher, classic men in tights trope movie, and I would definitely recommend it to your club that wears these costumes on a weekly basis. You know who you are.

This is great!

Art House Horror Cult Classic
cinemacritic-6353011 April 2018
Razz Leonard's timeless cult classic, Death by Tights, has rightfully earned its place in the pantheon of the greats, joining company with the most celebrated movies of its genre like the Blair Witch Project, Suspiria and Paranormal Activity. The first instalment of Alia Azama's popular Nylon Trilogy, is in harmony with some of the darkest gothic art house horrors which explores challenging modern day themes centred on obsession, compulsion, narcism and mutual self destruction.

In keeping with some of cinemas most pioneering film directors, Leonard's ambitious film cut of 62 minutes bravely moves away from the traditional film format of 90 minutes and yet does not disappoint as the slick screenplay has something for everyone. Neither does the art noir style of filming detract from the movie's intricate sub plots; the bold characterisation of the teenagers gives this coming of age flick gritty realism which should be applauded!

Method acting or, in fact, sign of any recognisable acting technique has been substituted by the casts natural, innate sense of simply playing themselves, all of which adds to uncontrollable moments of hilarity when you least expect it. Inspired performances from Abbie Bolton draws the audience into an impending sense of annihilation from the fiendish tights people and Lambton's vulnerability in the final scene is memorable to say the very least!

This great piece of cinema makes for compelling, edge of your seat viewing and should be in everyones top 100 films; the chafing tension alone will guarantee to overwhelm even the most ardent horror fans as 'sheer' terror constantly stalks the innocent teens. Audiences can look forward to the eagerly awaited sequel 'Death By Stockings', scheduled to premiere at both Time Square and Leicester Square in July 2020.

Please note - any IMDB member who dares to score this film with anything less than 10 points for this movie will be doomed to roam their local woodland area for an eternity in ladies....tights!
