I expected better from a film daring to confront such a theme. The agony of abuse shouldn't be taken lightly.
I don't feel like the message was communicated powerfully. It seems to almost victim blame in a bizarre way or could at least be interpreted that way given we have no information about the mental state of the confessor. The resolution is perplexing and unsatisfying which may be the intention but doesn't work well for me. I'm left rather clueless as to what I'm supposed to take away from this.
It doesn't help that I recently watched the film El Club which deals with these themes in a far more thought provoking way. I highly recommend that film.
