Day of Redemption is one of those feel-good movies that you can watch over and over again. In the core of the plot lies a love story about two college lovebirds that finally have an opportunity to reconnect after years of estrangement. Except that the circumstances that bring them back together have also placed them as opposite sides in an aggressive business takeover. Yes, you might have seen something similar before, but Day of Redemption is, truly, all about feeling.
What makes it stand out from other romantic stories, however, is everything that lies outside of the characters. DoR's visuals are so rich that sometimes it feels like everything just came out of a Pinterest page. The movie lets the ambiances do the talking for the characters in a way that gives their emotions material and poetic form.
To take character's feelings and translate them into everything that surrounds them. That's what makes DoR unique.
