Are the producers teenage boys?
jcomo-569-38086931 March 2024
I have to wonder if the producers of the show are teenage boys. If I have to listen to another Potty joke, I'm going to turn the channel. The family is very sweet, I don't think they talk about bodily functions as much as the editors would like us to believe. It would be nice to watch a full episode without hearing about somebody pooping or peeing. As a short person, I really love seeing how little people navigate the world. It helps me get ideas on how I can also make life a bit easier. I also enjoy watching them redo their home. The kids are very sweet. It's nice seeing their lives and how they navigate an average size world.

Love this family

I don't get the hate on this family. It's a reality show but of course there's production influence. They do deal with some typical family/ kid issue that all families encounter. I happen to like the way Amber and Trent are to the point and don't sugar coat things with the kids. They're trying to foster a good work ethic. I can definitely relate. I hope they keep this show going.

Great series.

I really like this series. It has humor, real emotions, irony, etc. To me they are an average family who happen to be little people. They deal with things as they come along. They all have great personalities. Each one is unique but they blend well.

Little to no entertainment value
whydoiwatchthiscrap6 March 2024
Just another "what zaney antics will they get up to this week" "reality" family show.

Frankly, I believe all of these shows are exploitative. People who are only being shown because they are: small, fat, had multiple births etc. In the old days we had something similar. They were called "freak shows" and people would pay a penny to gawk. They were no less exploitative then, as the televised versions are today. Think that is harsh? What exactly are you tuning in to see? They are not on TV because they are talented. It's just little people partaking in buffoonery so that rubes on their couches can have a cheap laugh.

All of these shows double as ads for local businesses and attractions. "Today we are going to....", and its just an episode of them doing whatever wacky hijinks at that particular venue.

Nothing is organic or believable. They have no real talent or entertainment value. Its just "we're little/fat/septuplets/polygamous/grew up without technology" (take your pick, they are all the same show.)

Just wait till it changes gears, and the family falls apart like they all do, and it's doom and gloom episodes, where they will talk a divorce to death like all of the other shows do, just to milk it dry.

A solid show
karnold95919 December 2018
Trent and Amber have a wonderful family and they are not only just trying to get by in life, but trying to teach their young kids the truth about life as a little person. For the first 4 seasons they renovated a house in Forsyth Georgia, in the fifth they moved into their new house. They have not altered the cabinets in the kitchen or furniture in the house. They believe that it teaches them how to adapt in the real world. They have the same problems that you and I have, plus dealing with the stares of uneducated people that have never seen little people. They do a great job and I enjoy their adventures. Thank you TLC

Good and Bad

Warning: Spoilers
When I first started watching this show I really liked it and felt they were wonderful parents. BUT as the kids are getting older I am wondering if they realize they just do not truly listen to their kids. The kids are emotionally stunted because Both parents baby them AND ask them to be mature. The controlling is unreal. They dictate these kids every move. I get that it's out of love but they are so blinded by their "I am the parent therefore I am always right" attitude. I am by no means perfect but watching this has made me to stand back and listen better to my teens. Alex seriously needs help. The way he cries over everything would drive me insane. On the water roller coaster he cried and screamed the whole time. I mean why make everyone's experience so uncomfortable? These parents need to stop assuming they are perfect. Makes me feel sad for the kids. That one time Jonah asked why his mother was smiling at him during the new bedroom conversation and she immediately said how disrespectful he was being. I am sure there is more that I did not see, but I can't understand why that was considered disrespectful. But I still say they are going their best that they know. The kids are fed well and taken care of. At the end of the day that is what matters.

Cringey
laurawalters-2750028 January 2021
A family member is obsessed with little people shows, so I have seen most of them. This is probably the worst one. The family don't do well in front of the camera, they are unnatural and fake and seem uncomfortable. They clearly act it up for the show and try to make the most mundane and boring parts of their lives more interesting than they are.

The Little Couple and Little People Big World are on another level. Watch those if you want to see more genuine and sincere families.

Controlling Parents Exploiting Their Children
pvbonaiuto10 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When the parents are not treating them like performing monkeys, they are making them do their work, instigating arguments, and creating problems to make it look like they fixed them.

The parents made a comment that Elizabeth was cringy with her boyfriend while they make sexual references in front of the kids all the time. These parents are degenerates who are raking in TLC money at the expense of their children's mental well being.

Almost every episode has the parents making their problems the kids problems.

They 3 that are 18 should move out and be roommates to save money and stay away from the control freak parents. I amd sure mom and dad have all the TLC money.

The show should be called Little Parents Big Egos.

Easy to watch
tommytomato-1552231 May 2019
Great programme and the children and are very lovely and they seem like a nice family, but I think it's a little silly when they talk about trent starting his furniture business and worry of money, pension when the family earn about 40k per episode, they are very wealthy.

Affection
robinfreebird-6163931 May 2019
I've noticed that the parents aren't very affectionate with their kids. Like the mothers 40th birthday . All the kids said nice things about their mother. I would have expected her to give each one a hug and be more expressive about how they made her birthday special. However, I do believe they love their kids and I love this show.
