The pilot episode sees down on her luck and her last cent Gabi Diamond, a young food blogger, applying for a job as a personal chef for Josh Kaminski, a successful tech entrepreneur. You know he is rich as his apartment overlooks The Golden Gate Bridge. Anyone who has visited San Francisco will know real estate there is not cheap.
Josh also has two members of staff, a loud and brassy housekeeper Yolanda and the catty and gay right hand man Elliot who dislikes Gabi as he wants the dishy Top Chef winner to be Josh's personal chef.
Gabi persuades Josh to hire her but as a trial he needs to cook a special meal for a dinner where he plans to on proposing to his girlfriend, Caroline (Mallory Jansen). Things take a turn for the worse when on the night of the dinner l she breaks up with him and later on Gabi ends up in bed with Josh.
However Caroline wants to make up with Josh and Gabi is hired for the position. A rather so-so pilot, a decent set up but nothing laugh out loud, the characters are broadly sketched but Elliot's bitchiness was amusing in small doses.
