What Happened To Real Life Evidence???
Erin5026618 February 2024
First of all, I think having Reid Scott replace Jeffery Donovan is awesome as I've never cared for Jeffrey Donovan for some reason not even in Burn Notice. I don't know why he's an okay actor he just is that okay. But I think Riley and Shaw are working well together. But as with the case of 'Celeste'- where are the autopsy results in these episodes? With 'Celeste', the autopsy result would have noted if she had had intercourse or not so that would have diluted the defense's notion that they had intercourse together. And in this case, the autopsy results would have diluted the defense's take on their notion of what happened that night. In prior seasons, if memory serves, as in real life, autopsy results have been mentioned and have strengthened the prosecutor's case so, what the heck?

Episode 4

Warning: Spoilers
This show still feels true to the original run on NBC and feels like one of the more pure Law and Order franchise members, not like the other two that have kind of gone off the rails.

This was not a particularly strong case though and I found myself wondering out loud how much longer was left in the episode quite a few times though. We have lost the element of surprise and the twists in the courtroom though once the defense ramps up their attack. That is something missing from this reboot, the DA and ADA having to adjust on the fly instead of diving in and sticking to their initial plan the whole time.

Guest starring Mark Ryder as Robbie McDougall
safenoe17 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
British-English actor Mark Ryder guest stars as suave movie star Robbie McDougall, and I especially liked the Playeresque scene where Detective Vincent Riley (Reid Scott) and Detective Jalen Shaw (Mehcad Brooks) go on to the set of Robbie's latest production, and I kind of wonder about the logistics of when there's filming of a fictional filming, and how the actors playing the crew from the fictional filming scene aren't mixed up with the real filming crew, so I do wonder init.

Anyway, I sometimes wonder if Chris Noth or Alfred Molina should make a guest appearance in this reboot to beef up the tone a bit.
