Ruzek On Leave But Not Really Off the Clock
shelbythuylinh3 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
After fighting and losing over on his life and Ruzek is also in the trying to get back to doing his job that he loves so much but has to wait on a physical in order to do just that.

Still he goes and play cards as the case he usually goes to but the case comes to him as he was playing cards. And that there is a robbery going on as he can't be in the area due to having drugs and police coming in there frequently over on it.

Hank and company in Intelligence tell him not at all in the being involved with the case as it could jeopardize his chance to be reinstated. But will he do so? In TV shows, that usually isn't the case.

"Retread"

Warning: Spoilers
Just an okay episode - definitely not one that will stick in my memory in any way, although it did have a surprisingly bittersweet ending that I didn't see coming.

Ruzek has sat his test for reinstatement to the Chicago PD and is struggling spending lots of time doing nothing at home, so he does the only sane thing and heads off to a late-night poker game - a very ill-advised poker game, no less - where there is a shooting.

Voight has to keep Ruzek's name out of things so he doesn't come under fire from being somewhere he shouldn't have been whilst intelligence solve the case.

Somehow, IAB never get wind of it. They aren't very competent, apparently. Definitely stretching the bounds of credulity. In reality, no chance IAB isn't notified.

Anyway, on to the next episode, I guess...

bad writing

Warning: Spoilers
So what i got from all of this is that ruzek became addicted or whatever after he got shot.. or for some reason, he just became inept and cant even focus anymore and take a written exam.. it would have made more sense if he had had a serious brain trauma or something..

after 6 months, dude is incompetent and maybe has PTSD and becam anxious and suddenly reckless

and dude from internal affairs agreed not to mention adam ruzek's slugs

and yeah, like another reviewer said, the moment adam made him talk, we knew he was gonna get killed because of it.. so predictable

it is interestin they never made burgees became like a kid to voight.. torres has been away for 2 episodes for some reason... kevin had no storyline anymore.. oh well.
