Faithful Sequel Delivers
refinedsugar29 August 2023
The followup sequel to 'Crime Patrol', 'Drug Wars' doesn't reinvent the wheel but continues providing the FMV shooter American Laser Games become synonymous with. If you like these titles in the least this provides more of the same action, bad acting and humor as before.

You know the deal here. These titles starting out munching on quarters in arcades back in the day until they got countless home ports with differing degrees of video quality. You go from being a deputy sheriff in 'Sierra County'. City cop in 'Big City' Chicago to the hot 'Border' before finally taking the battle to the drug kingpin Lopez himself and his drug lab in 'South America'.

The production values are a step up from the original while still providing countless no name bad guys to shoot. There's the usual mix of explosions, car chases and corny but sparse dialog. Your partners here aren't carbon copies of each other or the previous game and each get a good line or two. It's not a long affair, but it's a good time if you like these blasts from the past.
