Keep 'em comin'

Solid! The writing was pretty good actually; no plot point seemed to go to waste. I was impressed at whole well the destination wedding angle and Willie/Bart angle intertwined. I'm glad they kept bringing certain points back, or at least, giving them extra significance. Like the random tiktok sequence, for example. I was not expecting that to play any role in the plot whatsoever but props to them for adding some substance. I may always cringe when i see an app like tiktok or twitter mentioned in the show, but i cringe a little less when it actually has meaning aside from being a pointless reference. Jokes were good overall, nothing killer but hardly any filler either. Also really loved the song by Belle & Sebastian at the end! Pleasant surprise to see them included. I miss the couch gags & title sequence but these post-credit shorts we've been getting is not a bad trade!

Weird But Fun

Warning: Spoilers
Not going to lie, this episode was weird. None the less, it was good. It almost has the feeling of a weaker episode found in the 'golden' years of The Simpsons where you are confused on what you just watched.

The episode might follow the familiar beats in terms of turmoil currently facing Marge and Homer in their marriage, the writers are able to place a new twist onto the supposedly tried troop in this show, placing their relationship in terms modern viewers who questioned their relationship might understand - through YouTube clips on unlikely animal friendships. The set up to this 'breaking' point for Marge is Homer going on for an unspecified time on 'vacation weddings'.

Groundkeeper Willie was an unique choice of character for Bart to build a friendship with and their main plot line does feel like it is coming out of a cheesy RomCom where the best man does not like the bride. However, it somehow still works?

Karen Gillian and David Tennant were a delight to hear throughout the episode, something loyal Doctor Who fans are sure to get a laugh at. Hope to see more of their Simpsons characters down the line.

Willie Gets What He Deserves, A Happy Ending
e_daneva16 December 2023
AE Bonny Romance is an amazing episode. There have been 7 other Season 2035 episodes, 1 bad, 1 okay, and 6 pretty good episodes. This episode goes in the pretty good category. AE Bonny Romance is an episode about Groundskeeper Willie. It is one of the two other Willie episodes. I have always felt sympathetic for poor Willie. In the eyes of The Simpsons, Willie is a angry Scottish brute with no manners. In my eyes Willie is an underpaid, disrespected Scottish man. People never pay attention to Willie unless he becomes some fancy gentleman or some crazy murderer. In this episode, Willie is actually recognized as a real person. He isn't some forgotten character who no one pays attention to. This is what Willie deserves. In all, I give this a 8.1 out of 10. I'm excited to watch Murder She Boat tomorrow.

Woah! That was unexpected.

This episode was AMAZING. The other reviews on here so far are saying the episode sucked, but I'm writing this right after the episode aired so I bet it's just people hating on modern Simpsons for no reason. Not cool! Anyways, this episode might be the best in the season. This episode was funny, relatable, and the setting was GORGEOUS. I loved that Bart became friends with an unlikely person and that they begin bonding. I thought the scene where the kids are on nicotine patches accidentally was HILARIOUS. I loved that there wasn't really a B-plot, although you could consider the short segment of Lisa at the festival as one. I loved how Bart revealing to the audience that Willie's spouse didn't really love him, and the scene at the end with Marge and Homer running towards each other as the sun set behind them is great! Gotta tell you, even if you arn't a big fan of modern Simpsons episodes, YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS! I wouldn't say it's within my top ten Simpsons episodes of all time, nor my top 50,but still this episode was very very good! I am impressed! Well done!
