Not the ending you're expecting

Yes, yes. I've read the reviews for this episode (4 as of my writing this) and yeah, something seems off about it being a series finale. But I did read that it was announced at the New York Comic Con that there will be a three-part finale for the series called "Archer: Into the Cold." Hopefully, that will put a more satisfactory ending to the show we've come to love for the past fourteen seasons. I did watch the season finale and it does feel like it's leading on to something at the end. I'm wondering if the creators decided to keep "Into the Cold" a secret on purpose as they knew fans would be annoyed at the use of a cliffhanger for the /end/ of a series.

Solid individually but disappointing finale

Edit: Has been announced they are doing a special final episode, but that wasn't known at the time.

There were many great moments in this ep. From hilarious weak necks and hand chopping, to Cyril's speech (It provided a thought-provoking moment amidst all the humor, displaying a depth rarely seen from his character and adding a surprising emotional touch).

However, as a series finale, this episode fell short and felt somewhat rushed. While the final season has been consistently solid, it lacked the necessary buildup and payoff for a dramatic conclusion. The last episode could have benefited from a more gradual and developed arc for the characters, allowing for a more satisfying and earned resolution to the show.

In an ideal scenario, the final season should have been crafted as a big buildup to an epic and dramatic conclusion. Instead, "Breaking Fabian" felt somewhat... meh.

Despite these shortcomings, the episode still managed to entertain with its trademark humor and witty writing.

You've got to be kidding me!!!

This has been my favorite cartoon primetime show since it's debut. I've loved every bit of it. And after the death of Jennifer Walter I knew that this show couldn't continue on. So I knew that this last season was going to go out with a bang. As I now finish what is supposed to be the final episode. I haven't been this disappointed since the final episode of How I Met Your Mother. I feel like there should of been at least a two part episode. There's no follow up to the aftermath of the very last scene. That's insane and I'm heartbroken that it just cuts off in that way. I beg that something is done to correct this because I don't feel fulfilled. HYMYM was one of my favorite shows. But the ending of that show made it so I could never rewatch it again. Please don't do the same with Archer!

Edit: Now that there's going to be a real finale. I can raise my rating a little. Thank you for saving my rewatch ability of this show.

This seems like a mid-season episode

I loved this show in beginning. Very great show but HOW IS THIS THE FINALE?!! You introduce a new character in the beginning of the season why?! Then a few episodes later you make it seem like the series is going to end in a crazy way with Archer but nope. If you are ending a show like Archer you end on the biggest BANG possible! Not this...soda pop explosion! Like man how do you do this to your loyal fans who have watched this show for years?! How did they leave the writers room and everything after all these years and think "Yep, that's how we want the show to end. Everyone is going to love it!" No we won't we will be upset and complain about for years to come! Instead "DID YOU SEE THE FINALE?!" it's "That's the finale?!"

Interesting season, but not as a last season -- the final episoded sucked

Imagine you have conceived a child in 2008 and you and your spouse are awaiting the birth. You watch the child grow for 14 years, then in 2023, the kid says, OK, I'm done, and disappears into mist.

This is the disappointing outcome of the last season of Archer. There is nothing to indicate that things are wrapping up. They even introduced a new character, who contributes to the plots, but ultimately does little to change the dynamics of the central characters.

We are expected to bid farewell to a show and to characters we have watched and came to know (often with much too much information about their degenerate lives), and it ends with the left shoe dropping with no opportunity for the resolution of the other shoe.

This is bad, lazy writing. There should have been SOME resolution, where the agency was shut down, and the characters going their separate ways, possibly with a "where are the gang now", sort of wrap-up.

But there wasn't. It was dropped in our laps like uncooked scrambled eggs. It showed an disgraceful disrespect to the audience who stayed with it, through the ups and downs, despite the narcissistic personalities of the characters.

How does one respond to that? Well, one can't. The best I can do is give this episode, and the entire season, a lackluster review. It's pretty weak, but it befits a show that ended on a weak note.
