This was a really good episode. Seemed balanced between the normal PI action and some characters development and touchy feely stuff.
I am by no means a fan if Kumu character. Usually comes off as pretentious and a tripe if a native person being in tune with the universe and not everyone is evil but her. I think some people carry theee messages better than others. Like Trevor Noah rather than Chappelle. But this second half is the season they have kept her in very limited in a great way and the messaging is better in the topics. Tonight's was about a dark time where America did not act well. And this addresses that well. No condemnation, just factual. The emotion was palpable.
The show has really come a long ways. And it had big shoes to fill. So good on them
