Jordan is not his father: He's Jon-El
sophiejensen-1306322 June 2023
Seriously if Jordan Kent was real and I met him on the street, I'd walk up to him and say 'Hello Jon-el". It's the only reference he would get. But he doesn't have Jon-el's history. He didn't have an attention grabbing, only interested in your son once he has powers Kal'el for a father. He has a father who cares about him, who actually did raise him right. And somehow he's managing to push EVERYONE away while still claiming that everyone else is making everything about them. Johnathan and Sarah's self-interest is normal and realistic for thier age and actually a perfectly understandable reaction to thier unusual lives. I don't like seeing it, but it makes sense.

The reason I rate this episode as high as I do is because everything else about it is stellar. Seeing Luthor again, for the first time. Sam Lane being an involved family member who is as hurt as Clark and Lois to see Jordan becoming the attention grabber that he is. Wally West over in CW Central City was never this much of a showboat but even when he was a little bit he wised up pretty fast. And to have Jordan basically oozing disdain and callousness seems... like Jordan isn't the person on drugs to have taken the show down this particularly dark rabbit hole. I say it that way because he's giving a more convincing portrayal of being 'on drugs' than Tom Welling's Clark Kent did when he discovered Red Kryptonite. A substance that by its nature removes Kryptonian inhibitions and promotes aggressiveness.

"Mr. And Mrs. Kent are calling my house. They're really worried. It's like, they think he's on drugs or something." "Clark would have to BE on drugs to be on drugs." ...Chloe and Pete in a season 2 episode Smallville noticing Clark on Red-K. The class ring that was supposedly a ruby was a red meteor rock. It was a pretty cool way for Tom Welling to shed Clark's upstanding morality for an episode. But this is 4 episodes in a row without any apparent explanation whatsoever. It's exhausting.

Oh Continuity, where art though?

While the current season of Superman and Lois is far superior to the other arrowverse and other DC properties of the time, it was a bad call to mismatch Lex Luthor with Cudlitz vs. Titans' Titus Welliver. Both are great, but should have represented Lex in both series. Big miss. Superman and Lois season 3 is wildly surpassing the generic superhero season by delving deeper into real human (and metahuman) issues beyond what previously made productions have previously dared to face. It's a great episode, but Welliver has a leg up role wise. As always this season, issues like cancer are well covered.

Super interesting

Warning: Spoilers
This was a very good episode.

Lois dealing with the aftermath of her surgery was very well done. As was all the Cushings and Jonathan drama.

Lex introduction was superb, making him terrifying and a real threat. And the ending was creepy.

Also, classic tornado for Superman.

And...Jordan. I hate what Jordan is doing but I do not think his parents are handling him well. It is obvious the kid is depressed and he has dealt with anxiety and other things before. They should be more understanding and helping him to realize keeping the secret is better. I really hope the kid grows a little before next season.

A Superman Show Without Superman [7.5/10]

Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for Superman and Lois Season 3 Episode 12 ''Injustice'' (S3. E12): I hope this episode is good. Episode Eleven was good and I gave it a rating of 7.5/10. What Lois is going through isnt easy. I like how Clark is taking care of Lois. I really hope that this Lex is decent, I remember this actor from the Walking Dead and I liked his character. Jordan not using his powers like at all? That sucks. I want to see much more of Jordan using his powers. So far Luthor seems to be beautifully evil, I like it. It sucks how the biggest threat in this show is a tornado, sad. Still waiting for some badass superman action. Decent introduction of Lex overall. It looks like Lex had a good time in jail. Damn, that ending was super creepy with Bizarro. Overall a good episode but once again we don't really see superman and it sucks. My rating is 7.5/10 only for the entertainment value.

Poorly written and executed
robertdlar10 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I understand the higher ratings others gave but I have been watching the quality of this show dropping sharply since the brilliant first season and its not getting any better. So since am management trained I will start and end with the possitive.

First it was good to have a new (and improved) Lex Luthor. I love Michael Cudlitz he was amazing in Band of Brothers and Walking Dead and brings a nice evil edge to Lex. I like the nod at Chris Reeve Superman movie with the addition of Otis and the subplot of Jordan being a glory hound was good and should play out well if handled right.

Now the Bad. Lets start with Lex in prison. Can you say Kingpin from Daredevil? The parallels were too much for me. Can we NOT be our own thing. They keep reinventing Luthor and go with what is poppular rather than doing their own thing. Smallvilles Luthor was the best and still holds up and should be the model they use. This 'tough guy' Luthor doesn't work for me. Next, this is not how prison works. Firstly he had a Warden that made it CLEAR right off the bat that he could be bribbed? WHAT did Luthor hold his familiy hostage for 17 years!!!!! The Warden would have arranged for Luthor to die long before that. Also the prison population are not a bunch of sheep that would HUP to at some right privledged white guys command. I know they were trying to establish Luthor is evil but there were better ways. He would have had everything he wanted just based on his money, connections and what he could do for the inmates on the outside without having to bully or threaten anyone. None of them would have tolerated that. It was completely unbelievable and detached me from the episode. Another thing is every single guard would have to be in on what was going on and that just doesn't work (except in comic books so this is a minor gripe) but someone would have talked and the state would have found out what is going on. The best way to keep a secret is to minimize the number of people in on the lie, the more that know the greater the chance someone will talk.

Next was the fire station. Kyle is the Chief, he says something, the rest follow, the insubordination shown by the fireman was just too contrived, and honestly who cares. If I wanted to watch a soap opera I would, little tired of all the uneccessry soap stuff in the show.

The sub sub plot about Junior obsessing over 'superboy' is just annoying and feels too forced as well. High school kids have so many problems weighing on them to focus so hard on one thing is just hard to swallow. OK lets assume Junior OCD and then its believable but then again, who cares? Just more filler so they do not have to do much plotting. This is a failure of modern writing, the entire plot comes down to.... Luther is released and wants revenge on Lois. They waised 43 minutes for something that took 5. Just like last season, the ENTIRE plot of last season could have been a SINGLE episode if they just focues on the plot and Superman and nixed all the soap opera stuff.

Next, any thing and everything about the Lane/Cushings could vanish without affecting the plot. I don't care about them and their mundane lives it is not interesting or relevant. I know many of you do and that is fine, but if I wanted a soap opera I would watch one. I especially do not care about Kyle and Beppo's love affair.

I miss the old actor who played Jonathan, he was a much better actor and gave life to the character. Bishop is never going to do well because he cannot inject his own acting into the character as he is trying to be someone else rather than make Jonathan the way he feels comfortable playing him. Usually when this (in the past) has happened with other shows that character took a backseat (if they were not already) to all the other leads and would barely be on screen. Last man Standing tried this with a main Character (the eldest daughter) and it didn't work! She was a completely different character/person she didn't even look like the original character in any way. HOWEVER, the character was still Fun and Funny and got tons of laughs because the producers did not TRY to make her be or act like the original actress. Matter of fact I am pretty sure they knew replacing her would be impossible so they deliberately said lets get a Tall blond to replace the short brunette and completely change her personality. This show was a comedy so they could get away with it. What they problably should have done was do something weird to the Character rather than just bring in another actor who vaguely looks the same and is forced to try and act like the original. Maybe an accident and a coma and some reconstructive surgery to explain some physical differences. Have the experience change his personality. Maybe he is more glum or maybe he is now so happy to be alive he just embraces life more. Anything but trying to mimic what another actor did.

I wanted to end the rant on a possitive, but the fact that Superman is barely in the Superman show is just annoying to me and many others who I talk to who are not members of this site. In spite some statistics gathered, the over all trend shows a steady decline in viewer satisfaction with the show. I, like many others, feel this is mostly because the show was more Superman and plot focuesed in the 1st season and has slowly moved away from that episode after episode. When you compare this to shows like Smallville, its clear what people like. While Smallville had a TON of soap opera subplots, they still were in the background and each episode focues more on Clarke trying to solve the current plot and stop the latest villain. The PLOT was more episodical and the RELATIONSHIP stuff were spread out over the seaon. THIS show does the OPPOSITE. The PLOT is dragged out over a full season while the Relationship stuff takes the front SEAT. This needs to be fixed if the show wants to thrive and continue.

I really like the actors who play Lois and Clark, he is a good Superman and the struggle to be a dad and Superman is very interesting and I enjoy it but we need more Superman and less Clark.

Yeah, Jordan is the problem.
kalikaliptus-128 December 2023
Problem with this episode starts in first 5 minutes. Sarah is overreacting because of one sentence. Her mother is overreacting because men are always wrong in TV shows today. Every normal parent and drunk driver would be humble because if it wasn't for Jordan mother would be grieving and daughter wouldn't be.

Beside, Sarah is acting like spoiled brat and everything is about her. She is only important person.

People are analysing this show like there are heroes all around and that the things they do for ordinary people just don't matter.

And again 70% drama, 20% filler time and 10% Superman.
