Written by a woman! Smart and mature script for an electrifying romance with loads of chemistry.

This was written by a woman and it's sooo refreshing!!! I am from an European country where women are used to have a lot of freedom and our society is not as sexist or judgmental when it comes to women being single or relationships, so when I started watching kdramas and cdramas it was very hard at the beginning getting used to the barbaric judgment women suffer in those type of patriarchal societies.

Scripts are often completely offensive to women and patronizing if you will, repeating constantly how women are weak, need men, need to worry only about being beautiful and thin, can't be single and need to have children to dedicate their life to their family...it is painful but eventually you get used to these dramas.

But lately there has been a new trend and there's more and more feminist dramas, with strong, independent female characters and I am all for it.

Nothing but you is a clear example of this trend. Amazing female characters who are living their best life ( whatever their choice is) and never being a shadow of the men in their lives.

The series tells a mature love story with no cliches and very little drama or angst.

I enjoyed very much the chemistry the leads have, and every single character has layers and a well developed personality.

The sports plot is a bit more cliché and we have seen it many times before, so It did become a bit draggy for me, hence my 8 rating.

Overall very interesting and enjoyable and not too long.

An entertaining drama about overcoming obstacles
magnoliacream17 April 2023
Song San Chuan (Lei Wu) is a rising professional badminton talent but incurred a psychological knot that has been affecting his performance. Liang You An (Yutong Zhou) is a competent and hardworking executive assistant at Y-Space Sports who has become indispensable to her boss thus could not extricate herself from her current job for better career prospects. San Chuan and You An meet at a sports event where her kindness leaves a striking impression on the young man. After more coincidental meetings afterwards, they strike up a friendship, though San Chuan's feelings have gone past the friend zone.

You An is assigned the task of managing the tennis club her boss' son and other pampered young men are members of. To motivate the spoiled club members into taking the sports seriously, she enlists the help of Song San Chuan whose professionalism and work attitude she admires. She suggests he switch to tennis, something that, at his rather advanced age of 22 for professional sports, is almost impossible. Would he succeed? Would he be able to overcome his psychological knots? Would You An be able to turn the tennis club into more than just being a club for pampered princes? Would the older You An be able to look past her and San Chuan's age difference and accept his love?

This is a sweet take on the older-woman-younger-man trope. The romance is believable and develops naturally. Lei Wu and Yutong Zhou's chemistry is mesmerizing. The sports aspect is riveting. The badminton and tennis tournaments are staged well, some of them can be nail biting. The camaraderie between the tennis club players is heartwarming.

It was definitely worth my time.

One of the BEST dramas in 2023

Synopsis : An overworked 30- something executive assistant ( Zhou Yu Tong) meets a talented twenty two year old athlete ( Wu lei) with trauma. Together they create a tennis club while going through ups and downs together.

Review: Amazing acting by both Wu Lei and Zhou Yu Tong! Great chemistry between both leads and the acting is so natural you will forget you're watching a drama while you become immersed in their stories.

A well written urban drama with a great storyline that flows naturally, no dramatic scenes or silly misunderstandings. Many scenes will give you butterflies-in-the-stomach and heartwarming moments as they navigate their 10 year age gap to form a romantic relationship.

I think a lot of women will especially relate to Zhou Yu Tong's character as a single career woman in her early 30s. Her main strength is that she is very relatable and likeable as the level headed Liang You An.

Wu lei is charming and handsome as the passionate, sincere and pure hearted Song San Chuan. He'll set many hearts fluttering for sure!!

Highly recommended drama!!

Warning: Spoilers
Refuse to finish watching it. They get together for one night she rejects him and treats him like s*** afterwards so then you have to probably wait until the very end of the season to see what's going to happen with them he loves her she doesn't love him if I was him I'd find somebody else that appreciated everything that he did uses him and takes advantage of him not a good storyline. I watch a lot of kdramas but rarely watched the ending as they're so drawn out who in the heck waits years on top of years for someone that's how it is normally all k-dramas they leave for years and then come back.
