Well well

This is made for 5 years old kids who would not notice the bad cgi. I don't remember the cgi in the show being so horrible, maybe because i was little. What was the budget for the cgi? Let me guess, they gave 5 bucks to a 7th grader to make this in class. Anyway, funny script and nice plot, okay acting. Got bored so i start going through my phone and left the movie as a background. I watch disney channel shows even tho i'm 20 for the nostalgia but this was not for me. Think i enjoyed the show more. Now when i watch it as an adult it's so weird seeing how they did that rabbit pet. If the cgi was not that noticeble i think it would've turn out better. But it's made for kids so don't expect much.

Definitely decent needs a Part 2
candyyt-053118 March 2024
The performances delivered by the actors were commendable, but the computer-generated imagery (CGI) effects fell short of expectations in certain scenes. The pacing of the storyline was quite rapid, and it seemed like the antagonists were vanquished too effortlessly. The ending was left open-ended, hinting at a possible sequel in the future. Therefore, if you go in with moderate expectations, you might enjoy the movie, although there are a few overwhelming aspects, they do not necessarily detract from the overall experience. Also, I find a disappointing that they did not put this movie in theaters.

i'm nostalgic

Thunderman Returns is a film that can be rated in two ways: the fact that it is a television film created by Nickelodeon, and its cinematic level. I made a middle ground. This return of Nickelodeon's most beloved superhero family is made very well for the message he wants to send: so much, so much fan service. One thing that made everything better is the fact that we managed to keep all the same actors in the series, which, I must say, do a good test overall. The best actor is in my opinion Chris Tallman, who confirms that he is a good actor. Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo and the others also do a good job. The special effects and the direction are the big flaw of the film, but I understand since Nickelodeon is not a production company that must aim for a high technical compartment. The soundtracks are as spectacular as when I watched the sitcom as a child, even the setting is as spectacular as in the series. Not to mention the laughter, I think it's the biggest point in favor of the movie, I never stopped laughing, just like when I watched the sitcom.... good times. Another thing that I liked is the original story, which does not look like the plot of the series but that finds some antagonists. Taking the average between the two possibilities of evaluation came out a good grade for what the film aspires to.

. Rating: 6.6/10.

It's mid
ryanfleck-438207 March 2024
Where do I start the bad cgi (worst than the show from 2013) it doesn't feel like a movie just a episode with a low budget and I enjoyed the show very much and the characters shows little to no development from 2018 but other than that it just feel like a bad episode from the show. Most of the sets that's not the original sets looks bad like the whole first scene the superpower look bad the meteor looks bad when they destroy it, it looks horrible. But the positives they got all the old cast back and most of the sets that came from the old show they look the same but because of the bad cgi , sets and low budget feeling I can't give it above a 3.

It was fine
leiam-432939 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
About what I expected for a nickalodian movie, the cgi sucked but I expected that (the worst cgi in my opinion was Bradford,Wong, and Gideon) my biggest problem is the fact that the kids of the villians just felt shoved back into the plot, dark mayhem suddenly has his powers back out of nowhere, and Colosso's son is just randomly gone.

I do wish the characters felt like the developed a little more, and the overall theme of putting family first kinda feels overused for the thundermans at this point.

Just felt like a lot of plot holes, but overall not bad for a nickelodian movie. It wasn't amazing but really not as bad as I was expecting.

First of I specifically created a IMDb account just so I can leave a review it was that bad ,I've never really been a fan of the thunderman but I thought this movie would be worth watching but I was wrong it was worse than the show ,it wasn't funny was very boring and cringe kira kosarin I a very cringe actress it was just so hard to watch ,had unnecessary obstacles like the one in the end it's like the writers felt it was too easy they had to make up some obstacles at the end or some ,they did a better job in Henry danger when I comes to visuals just like danger force disappointed me I only watch it coz of ray his funny ,but it very suitable for a 2 year old.

Honestly great, feels nostalgic!
realaustinmoore7 March 2024
I don't really get the negative reviews so far. People just want a reason to be mad and complain, and really can't seem to use the right words or spell them correct correctly. It really wasn't that bad, it was pretty good. It took me back. The CGI wasn't that bad either, and I'm not gonna write a bad review just based off of the CGI, it feels like the original show and I think that's what they were aiming for. The new suits looked incredible, and I loved the little cliffhanger at the end, maybe hinting at a new movie or possibly renewing the series ..? Haha.

I enjoyed the little plot twist, I love that they were able to bring back the original cast. It took me back, the lines, the acting the actors everything, means a lot to me brought back that little bit of innocence.

The sets were re-created perfectly, just how I remember. It was also very comical, It got some smiles, and some laughs out of me. It felt like I was watching the original series, maybe like a special two-part event, put together. It really is A feel good movie.

Overall really felt like the original series, the nostalgia was there, I remember I was so set on trying to get on the show when I was like nine, that's when I really got into acting so it took me back to that. All in all, with the way, it made me feel, the meaning it had to me, and still does, the actors, the writing, the sets I give it a 9/10 I do wish It could've been a little little bit longer, I didn't want it to end.. I also wanted to see what happened to Colosso's son... that's my review. I really enjoyed the movie, hopefully we get another series renewal or maybe just one more movie. Great job guys!

Young-Old; Forget About It!
shrillnijago20 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I understand this is a Nickelodeon project, but the whole "Young-Old" is getting... old. All the "Okay, Boomer" and "You don't know what a landline is!" is getting annoying, especially with the failed attempts with modern slang. I'm not going to scrutinize them over all of it, but it did feel forced.

This movie also threw away a lot of things that I was excited to see. This movie is obviously set a couple of years after the end of the series, but I honestly didn't expect for things to be forgotten or thrown away like Max not having a super name, Chloe still being Thunderbaby, and not getting a new name by the end, or the twin power thing. I wanted to see them use their twin power more, but it was just a one and done, and it was really underplayed. Firing them from the T-Force really sucked. I understand it was to just bring them back to Hiddenville, it would've been nice to see them in the T-Force a little longer than 15 minutes. I wanted to see them tackle something a lot bigger and scarier, and while the children of the heroes were a good idea, they felt really weak. Also, nerfing Chloe was a really dumb decision. "I need 1 minute for my power to recharge!". Adding or removing things for plot convenience isn't good from a writing standpoint.

The movie was too short for what's it worth. It's the Thundermans! They deserve more than an hour and ten minutes plus commercial time. That time limit didn't help with plot progression as a lot of it was just "Oh, okay, that happened."

Also, Max would not forget Colosso for a couple of years. Colosso is his best friend, they've had so much progression throughout the series showing this.

Overall, it wasn't terrible for a Nickelodeon project, but it could've been a lot better. I mean, just look the Thundermans in Paradise, the Z-Force arc, or the Henry Danger finale projects. At the end of the movie, they hinted at a sequel. I am looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Good-Enough
jdevilliers-4322410 March 2024
A goofy and entertaining film that brings back some of the most important superpowered characters of my childhood. A bittersweet return for the legendary and nostalgic Thundermans. A story we wanted but did not need. Yes, it is cringey and ridiculous and has horrible low-budget CGI but who cares. It is made for kids and they will probably love it . If you want a good movie then do not watch this. But if you want to watch something dumb or watched the show as a kid this will be good enough for you. It was fun watching the Thundermans return while having yet another crazy adventure for one more time.

Incredible film
j_grindol8 March 2024
Honestly I went into this movie with a mediocre outlook seeing as how so many movies and shows these days are continuations or reboots that fall short but this film was able to capture the magic of the original series. I was incredibly impressed by the performances of Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin as well as their involvement as executive producers. It shows how much this story means to them and it came through in their great performances as well. All too often is content gritty or filled with drugs and nudity in an effort to attain an audience in todays world, so seeing a film that grasped the attention of its viewers while staying true to a family friendly genre and containing great lessons for children and adults was a breath of fresh air. Incredible film, incredible cast.

Pretty Good
fortniteytfortnite16 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
So the CGI is definitely worse than the show, but I liked this film. I think it gets good around 20 minutes in. Does kinda feel like a couple of episodes were made and put together, but it's alright. Good plot, good plot twists. Would I recommend watching it? Hell yeah.

The film's start was kinda bad, but once they got home, it got a little better. I liked the scene with the V-Team and them faking being heroes.

After they got fired and went back to their real home, it got really better. I like the ending, and I would rewatch it.

Kinda sad that the CGI was worse, given that the movie came out in 2024 and the show did in 2013. Most likely a lower budget, but I still liked it. I would watch it again, and you should watch it for yourself. 7/10 Movie. Goodbye.

It was horrible.... terrible waste of good cash they could have used for something else
liasusan-9003523 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Like what the butt is wrong with the Thundermans ...you know kira kosarin really hyped it up but Nickelodeon is not what it used to be..the whole movie was basically equivalent to a dragged lame episode of the actual series. Every decision was rash and unrealistic like from president kick butt's decision it all went south ....they never heard of good editing? What is this coco melon? The plot is janked up and everything just kinda pops outta nowhere....they emphasize too much on family to a point where it's basically their excuse for useless decisions. Family is with your family not yourhouse.

This is sad and bad
julianastrom8 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Hear me out I loved the Thundermans series from Nickelodeon when I was younger. But I did not remember this series like this.

The animation is bad like really bad. They still puts old laughs randomly in the movie. The acting is kinda okay and feels like the same as it did when I was a child. I feel bad for Phoebe she seems so sad and looks like she was forced to this movie. The story jumps right in in some saving the day superhero style and does not continue from where the serie ended. I was super excited at first then it got worse. I give this an 4/10 because of the nostalgia and at least Nickelodeon tried to make a good movie but failed brutally, but I give nothing more. It's not a good movie.

Not what I expected
emilybirkelbach11 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Growing up and even now the Thundermens were my favourite show. I loved the story's, the characters, and the messages. With that being said I had really high expectations coming into this reboot and I was a little disappointed.

Let's start with the cgi. I feel like going back to 2013 the cgi was good for the time and technology we had then and was expecting it to be MUCH better and more realistic for 2024 but I feel that they just threw it together and edited it in a day. Not to rag on the tech team who deserves so much credit from many movies but I do feel as how they displayed the cgi of the powers and some of the other things was not up to par.

Now onto the story line. I enjoyed the story but with some things they added like the plant that gives you super powers and giving super powers to supporting characters I did not like. Yes it made it inclusive it was a very unnecessary touch added to the story line. I liked how Billy and Nora got to go to high school especially the same high school as Phoebe and Max. I just wish that they didn't use there powers in the school. I loved how Chloe grew into her character and wasn't the "baby" anymore. Hank and Barbs characters didn't change much but I liked the sense of normalcy to that.

To wrap things up the movie was very mid. I really hope that they can bring the show back but fix the cgi and take away the extra powers.

Needs more mature stuff
lukejager31 March 2024
It was good . Understood the references. Great to see everyone back.some characters like blobbin where just there for nostalgia not for the story. And we needed to be more mature and longer. Like most 6 year old watch loud house.there is no 6 year old that watches the thundermans. And the villains could also be better. And what happened to balfor or Phoebe and max having the thundersense. But the thundersense was also forgotten in the show. And it should have been longer this just feels like a show special. And the hole plot is kinda dumb. Like getting fired because a girl got harmed but has no wounds like What the flip.also close would be six since this movie takes place in 2021.

A Reunion Film That Needed More Work
RECB310 March 2024
This is an alright reunion film that could have been a lot better if the crew had added some extra effort and strength. It was nice to see the cast return and to see how much they have grown up. This reunion film did not exactly fully recapture the same energy and spirit from the original series. The storyline of this reunion film was straightforward and weak. I understand why the crew had put it like that but it was not really enough. This reunion film reveals to viewers that everyone has a home. Unfortunately, I do not have a real home. Wherever I go, I always feel uncomfortable. This is a fine enough reunion film that could have been better.

If you have seen the show it feels like home for you. The cgi was as basic as in the show whit a few better touches. It had what it needed to have and to see them all back was great. Now i wont spoil anything but the ending slaps. It gives you hope for more of the thundermans. Kira did a great job producing and i think its well delivered. This being many peoples childhood show they had to change a few things humor wise that would still appeal to kids but also people that have aged since the og show. It doesnt take anything away from the movie, it only makes it way better that they did this SLIGHT humor change. Overall fantastic. Great job to everyone who worked on this masterpiece.

just another average kids movie
pahocih8 March 2024
This show is what it aims to be is, and nothing more which is fine. I wasnt expecting much but the CGI really got me off guard. Every frame of it was horrendous and they didnt even bother to get creative with special effects. I certainly dont even remember it being worse than the show. As for the overall movie, it follows every cardinal sin of a kid's movie; 1- plot simpler than nursery stories 2- very cheesy one liners 3- unfunny jokes with the the classic sitcom laugh tracks trying to convince you it is 4- unnecessary conflicts 5- shallow characters It was really great seeing Kira Kosarin back on screen though, I hope she makes more appearance on other projects.

THEY ARE BACK
kanishs-827547 March 2024
Well, where do i start. The start was incredible, i loved how we got to see them in action again. I really liked that we could see how their life is right now, but i really miss what happend to all the other villans like the son of Dr. Colosso. Having him helping the V team whould be great.

I really enjoyed the movie, watching the og cast back, and the sets. And seeing the heroes back in the old suits. I did like the new ones, but the old one just gives me the og vibes. Overall 10/10 they are missing a little bit tho, in the next movie(if there is going to be one) make it last 2 hours, feels like it took 20min to watch. You guys are making the scenes to short.

Most stupidest movie I have ever seen
bate-87 March 2024
If Max could stop looking at himself He is as a vine as he is in real life it just makes the whole family look ridiculous shame on Nickelodeon. I like the TV show, but the movie just proves a point that it's just make these actors look stupid.

But Jack Griffo can do that all by self He loves himself just like Max Thunderman. And Paul Young Billy has always had the role of being the idiot how do Nickelodeon type cast people like this they should be ashamed themselves it used to be a good show, but the constant downgrading of each of the cars got too much shame on you Waited all this time to see this movie such a disappointment.

riverlyons8 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie wasn't that great. It didn't give off a movie feel and was poorly made. The CGI was terrible it was non realistic, and made there powers look dull. When I watched this show as a kid the CGI wasn't as bad, but the movie just did not have good CGI. The movie could've been much longer, making it only an hour/10 minutes feels like a down fall. There were shows with 2 parts even longer than that. And the plot was so basic there was nothing new to it. In my opinion, they could've made a 5th new season instead of making this movie it would've been just as good. Overall it's a good movie to add to the story but, it's not like an actual movie.

Honestly worst movie of the year, megamind 2 had more soul than this.
AJN11028 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I don't even know where to start with this movie. The show was already horrible, but I thought the movie would improve somehow and maybe they would see the errors from the previous installment? But no. This movie is so bad I literally wanted to throw up at certain parts.

The CGI is just awful. You could see the green screen outline at some parts and most of the cgi in the movie is worse. How much was the budget?? Some of the so called "plot twists" (If you could even call them that) are easy to see coming from a mile away! Also doesn't help that the movie just rips everything off! The scene where all the characters come together to break a giant dome just looks like Avengers endgame, and then they tie that whole thing together by saying "Assemble" after they do it. Oh! And I cant forget how they ripped off multiple hero names! Lets see, Human tornado = Human torch Hunk = Hulk

And nobody can forget that stupid laugh track!

Literally not one freaking sentence in the movie can finish without that goddamn laugh track! When you watch the movie, it just becomes background noise, you don't even start to notice it anymore! That's how frequent it is!

There's a scene where one of the main characters walks into the wall and that's it. That's the joke. Comedy everyone, at its finest!

Cant believe nickelodeon actually made this. Don't waste your time with this movie. It just gets more and more unpleasant every minute you watch.

Bring back the series!
exceladeogun7 April 2024
The Thundermans Return

This film serves as a continuation of the beloved Nickelodeon series, "The Thundermans," and is sure to delight fans of the show. While some flaws, particularly in the CGI department, may be apparent from a critical perspective, it's important to consider that these elements are likely less noticeable to the film's target audience.

The acting remains consistent with that of the series, also mirroring its plot structure, set design, and overall tone of the series. This faithful adaptation effectively evokes nostalgia for fans of the original show. Considering the current landscape of Nickelodeon series, a potential reboot sparked by this film would be a welcome development.

Great movie for both the original fans & new fans
ksan-3050912 March 2024
This movie succeeded in bringing back the best things from the original show but also making it a good movie on its own.

This film was not one of those revivals of old shows that spoil the original ones and don't make sense to new viewers. It would also appeal to both people who like superhero films and sitcom fans.

And the fact they made it with literally all of the original casts were just amazing and it was great to see the kids all grown up and behaving more mature.

One thing I was a little disappointed was how the second son Billy barely seemed to have grown mentally. The acting was good but it was a little strange to see him act like a kid when he's supposed to be a high school student.

All in all , I think it is a very exciting and entertaining movie to watch and highly recommend it.
