This episode is the average Simpsons episode. Nothing about it stands out, and it is not funny at all. The plot is weird and boring. This is Definetly an episode I would not recommend to anyone, if you have not watched it yet I would recommend skipping this one. I feel that the quality of Simpsons episode has gone down each year and now we're at the point we're the episodes are so boring I can barely pay attention. The only thing that is ok about this episode is the crowd meter, Definetly the funniest part of the episode. Everything else is awful. Once again the Simpsons produce a basic and unappealing episode.

When Bart's latest prank causes chaos at Springfield Elementary, Marge and Homer dream of a world in which Bart was never a Simpson.
I haven't watched a single episode of season 34 except this up until now and I only watched this episode because it sounded interesting.
And let me just say - I don't regret that choice at all!
This episode was lovely.
The plot was coherent, the jokes landed.
The Simpson family didn't like Bart because of his mischievous behavior until they've come to realize he made them happy and made the family more interesting.
I liked how each character got to experience a little "Bart" in their life.
It did become kind of boring in the middle but it picked right up.

Bartless continues the trend of great episodes from Season 34, the scene with Homer and Marge yelling at Bart is great especially when they tag in and out. I loved the animation of the thunderstorm as Homer & Marge sat outside in loan chairs. The bit with Marge being a veterinarian is funny because it pokes fun at so many generic hospital shows. Another great animated bit is the scene when Homer hits Bart with a car, but the best scene in the episode would be the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon. The story is well written, funny and has heart. If Bart Simpson is your favorite character then this is a must watch episode. This is the third best episode from Season 34 behind Lisa the Boy Scout and Treehouse of Horror XXXIII but neither one of those are cannon. Is this episode cannon, watch it to find out.

Bartless is one of the weirdest Simpsons episode ever produced and I love it! It shows us a world without Bart and how "great" everyone's lives are, until they meet an orphan boy (who looks like Bart), who makes everyone a lot happier. I love the creativity of this episode and while they did do one of my most hated tropes (world without certain character is much better), they put their spin on it by showing how Bart makes everyone happier. It's a cute little experiment and personally, I thought it was succesful. I like this new direction of The Simpsons and would like to see another episode like this!
Funny but not good

This episode is fun to watch. The writers show how the Simpsons life would be like without Bart, which is great. Then Bart comes along and ruines it for everyone and then he does some horrible stuff and then Simpsons suddenly like him??? I mean, Homer would lose his job if he did what Bart did, Marge used a swear word and rattled her anger at her employees and Lisa was enjoying psychopathic violence and the message was supposed to be that people will like Bart and would actually want such a child to be thier own child. I would recommend you to NOT WATCH THIS EPISODE WITH YOUR CHILDREN. It would give their impressionable minds with a wrong impression of how a child should behave, to be loved.
