This fun music video came to me at a time when I didn't know who Seu Jorge was. "City of God" would only be available to me some time later even though it was released
first, and back then (2004) the hit single "Carolina" was everywhere but I didn't know the man. But my first contact with him was the video where two great surprising
appearances caught my attention: Willem Dafoe playing an enthusiast of the Seu Jorge's performance where hie gives his card with a number and asks him to call him; and a
priest played by Bill Murray but I won't spoil the fun of what he does in his act. Those were Seu Jorge's co-stars in "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" around the same
time they were shooting the movie at Cinecittá (Rome), and the video was shot in front of some historical location.
While "Carolina" is an awesome samba-rock song, this one is more acoustic with just him and his guitar, with some repetitive lyrics. Fans might enjoy it or not, and since I'm a big fan of his as an actor since he grew up to be part of amazing films as a lead roles and supporting, I can't talk much of the song outside of simplistic terms. It doesn't make the cut for me. However, with the special appearances of his buddies in the incredible Wes Anderson movie, Dafoe and Murray having great cameos, the video becomes a special project for everyone involved and even more for fans of theirs. It's funny, surprising and they're all great in it. 8/10.
