When Is The Netflix French Movie “The Wages Of Fear” Coming? Well, Julien Leclercq, a French filmmaker, is bringing a new action movie to Netflix in March 2024. It’s a modern retelling of a classic French thriller from the 1950s titled “The Wages of Fear.” Leclercq is not only directing the film but also co-writing and producing it.
He’s no stranger to Netflix, having already worked on several projects for the streaming platform. You might recognize his work from the action-packed series “Ganglands,” which currently has two seasons available for streaming.
While there’s no confirmation about a third season yet, Leclercq has also contributed two movies to Netflix’s catalog: “Earth and Blood” in 2020 and “Sentinelle” in 2021.
Hamid Hlioua is collaborating with Leclercq on the screenplay. Hlioua’s previous work includes contributions to “Ganglands” and the series “Cannabis” on Arte.

A loud, high-pitched sound echoes through the streets of Oslo. Car alarms start going off everywhere. A citywide blackout begins. An elderly man, draped over his grandson’s grave, begins to hear the sound of muffled knocks coming from under the ground. “Grandpa is coming,” he says repeatedly. He grabs a shovel and begins to dig. So begins Handling the Undead, Thea Hvistendahl‘s somber feature directorial debut that acts as a haunting meditation on grief, daring to ask us what we would do if someone we loved returned from the dead.
Adapted from John Ajvide Lindqvist’s (Let the Right One In) 2005 novel of the same name (he also co-wrote the screenplay with Hvistendahl), Handling the Undead chronicles the lives of three families as they deal with the sudden return of their recently deceased loved ones. Anna is saved from a suicide attempt when her father Mahler (Bjørn Sundquist...

A grandfather quietly grieves over the fresh, newly dug grave of his preteen grandson. An elderly woman quietly mourns the passage of her life partner. A husband sits at the hospital bedside of the body of his wife. Separated by time and distance, each character, in their turn, faces a heart-shattering, soul-crushing, life-altering change for the worse in Norway’s capital city, Oslo, leaving their lives, individually and collectively, irrevocably devoid of purpose or meaning in Thea Hvistendahl’s deceptively quiet, stunningly brilliant adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s (Let the Right One In) novel of the same name, Handling the Undead (Håndtering av udød). With influences ranging from George A. Romero’s original Dead trilogy, Stephen King’s Pet Semetary, to the more recent French series, The Returned, and...

As CEO of Canal+ for more than a decade, Rodolphe Belmer pushed the pay TV giant to make original scripted content — a bet that paid off with award-winning shows such “Spiral” and “The Returned.” So what does he have planned at TF1, the French television company he took over last year?
From his office on the top floor of a 14-level skyscraper, with a panoramic view that includes the Eiffel Tower and La Defénse in the distance, Belmer reveals that TF1 hopes to expand its reach into other European countries, while launching an ad-supported streaming service on Jan. 8.
“We want to penetrate all French-speaking markets, including Belgium,” he says. “Let’s not forget that French is the fifth-most-spoken language in the world.”
And Belmer recognizes that TF1 has suffered some setbacks. Its planned merger with M6, the country’s second-biggest private TV network, failed to gain antitrust approval in 2022. TF1 also pulled out of Salto,...

Perhaps no medium understands television’s terrifying potential quite like film. That’s right: countless horror movies have paid homage to the spooky possibilities of their industry’s smaller screen little brother over the years. Movies like Poltergeist, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and The Ring all recognize that a television set is a potentially powerful totem.
A TV set is a device that families have placed in their living rooms for decades, passively welcoming in all manner of signals, blithely trusting that evil somehow won’t piggyback its way on them. Still, for much of television’s early years, there wasn’t a ton of great horror series to speak of (aside from the truly iconic like The Twilight Zone). That has all changed now.
To celebrate Den of Geek‘s 15th anniversary, we are once again counting down the best pop culture that the past decade and a half had to offer.
A TV set is a device that families have placed in their living rooms for decades, passively welcoming in all manner of signals, blithely trusting that evil somehow won’t piggyback its way on them. Hot off the success of “No Man’s Land,” Israel’s Spiro Films and France’s Haut et Court TV are re-teaming on “Armageddon,” a sprawling thriller miniseries looking at Christian extremists operating in the Holy Land.
The show is being created by David Ackerman, who previously worked in national security in Israel and went on to pen the film “Blank Bullet” inspired by the story of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination, and “Jerusalem,” a gritty geopolitical thriller drama which competed at last year’s Series Mania.
Ackerman is currently writing the script for “Armageddon,” which weaves several characters, including a Christian American priest who travels with a few disciples to the Kibbutz Megiddo. Appearing friendly and charitable, the group starts forging bonds within the small community, including a mother and a son, while pursuing their secret agenda: find the Antichrist who will provoke a war that will fulfil their biblical prophecy...

Audrey Diwan, the BAFTA-nominated filmmaker of the Venice Golden Lion-winning “Happening,” is set to make her television debut with Haut et Court TV in France, Variety has learned.
Haut et Court TV is one of France’s leading production companies with credits ranging from the supernatural drama series “The Returned,” to “Panthers” with Tahar Rahim and more recently “Possession.”
Diwan is currently writing the series, which will be an original story about a mother and daughter running a plastic surgery clinic. The plot is under wraps but the series will be similar to “Happening” in that it will deal with women’s relationships to their bodies. A pay TV company in France is believed to be co-developing the series.
The filmmaker, who is also a book author and a screenwriter, recently collaborated with Valerie Donzelli on the script of her upcoming film and is currently developing her next feature with Edouard Veil at Rectangle Prods.

Historically, zombies are more associated with cinema than TV. Originally defined in a modern context by George Romero’s 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead, in the decades since, zombies have evolved (watch out!) to become one of pop culture’s most recognizable horror tropes—to the point where they even pop up in TV shows that are decidedly not about zombies. In honor of All Of Us Are Dead, the horrifying zombie K-drama that just dropped on Netflix, we’re taking the time to recommend some of our favorite zombie TV shows of all time.
All of Us Are Dead
Adapted from a Naver webtoon of the same name, 지금 우리 학교는 (which translates directly as “Our School Now”) follows a group of high school students as they fight to stay alive when their school becomes ground zero for a zombie outbreak. Though the TV show isn’t doing...

Hellbound is the most recent Korean-language hit to make it into the U.S. Netflix Top Ten, and to top Netflix’s global (self-reported) charts. If you’ve already binged all six episodes of the ultra-violent celestial fantasy and are thirsting for more shows in a similar vein, then we’ve hand-picked a selection of supernatural fantasy series that could make the perfect follow-up. Like Hellbound, The Leftovers is an existential drama that starts with an incomprehensible, potentially divine metaphysical event. “Now We’Re Sucking Diesel! If you don’t get it, you missed a great series.” Stephen King’s recent discovery of British police thriller Line of Duty – as relayed via a series of highly enthusiastic Tweets – was a delight to witness. King’s zeal is enough to make UK fans wish that he hadn’t binge-watched the BBC series from his home inside the sewers of Derry, Maine, but instead watched it at broadcast pace in the UK, where he would no doubt have made a sizeable contribution to the show’s Twitter larks. (King proved himself happy to join in with online TV show speculation when he correctly predicted the killer in HBO/Sky’s Mare of Easttown. You can bet he’d have had a take on the mystery identity of Line of Duty baddie ‘H’.)

The Queen’s Gambit co-creator Scott Frank is heading back to the 1960s. Clive Owen is set to star in Monsieur Spade, a one-hour drama series from Frank and City On a Hill showrunner Tom Fontana, which is currently being pitched, generating a lot of interest from buyers, Deadline has learned.
The predominantly French language series will be produced by French production company Haut et Court and will be shot entirely on location in France. It is being eyed as an international co-production with a premium cable network or streamer.
Co-written by Frank and Fontana and to be directed by Frank, Monsieur Spade centers around writer Dashiell Hammett’s great detective, Sam Spade, played by Owen, who has been quietly living out his golden years in the small town of Bozuls in the South of France. It’s 1963, the Algerian War has just ended, and in a very short time,...

There’s never a bad time for a new superhero show, mind you. But with Amazon’s brilliantly bloody The Boys having been off air for five or so months now, the streaming world is particularly due for a new supe. With its list of new releases for March 2021, Amazon is going to be rectifying that.
The animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic series Invincible is set to arrive on Amazon Prime this March 26. Kirkman’s comic series is a colorful, thrilling, and violent take on superhero myths and the series that it inspired will feature a truly impressive cast. Take that all into account and this will be an important addition to the streaming superhero canon.
Also arriving in March is another big ticket item for Amazon. The long-awaited Coming to America sequel, Coming 2 America, will premiere on March 5. Eddie Murphy returns as Prince Akeem Joffer who...

It’s not an exaggeration to say that “Twin Peaks” changed the face of television. It proved that you could tell serious, surreal, narrative, character-based stories. You could take risks. David Lynch proved that you can shape the stories around interesting characters and explore the most mundane of settings and still create an intriguing story. “Twin Peaks” is coming back for its third season in May — after 25 years — and since then, its legacy has only gotten stronger with a batch of shows that were inspired, for better or for worse.
Northern Exposure
It wasn’t as creepy as “Twin Peaks” — far from it — but “Northern Exposure” draws from some of its more wholesome elements. Nothing too suspenseful or weird happened, but that was the point. Like “Twin Peaks,” “Northern Exposure” was about the characters relatively small lives.

A cult sci-fi series is making a comeback. The CW has given a straight-to-series order to The 4400, a reimagining of the 2004 USA Network drama. It hails from Riverdale co-executive producer Ariana Jackson and Anna Fricke, who successfully rebooted Walker, Texas Ranger for the CW.
The 4400 is part of four greenlights given by the CW on Tuesday. The network, which last year did not do traditional pilots because of the coronavirus pandemic, ordering four projects straight-to-series, will film at least three pilots in 2021: Diablo Cody and Berlanti Prods.’ Powerpuff Girls; Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship’s DC-themed Naomi; and a millennial nun dramedy from Jennie Snyder Urman, Claire Rothrock & Ryann Weir. All four projects have all-female creative teams.
The 4400 has been a title that the CW chairman Mark Pedowitz has been high on. Its development history mirrored that of The Lost Boys. Both went through multiple cycles...
