Better with every new episode
putsomesugaronme6 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode! Such interesting mystery and suspense just getting stronger and stronger. I like how characters interact with each other. We found something new about "rich girl" Stephanie that her life isn't so light and easy, she has her own drama at home. It was just so... human of her character. She isn't cartoon. I like that interpretation between her and Cullen. Seems like they will be good friends. Also, I like how Cullen was trying to make his sister try to understand Stephanie because they're almost the same. He is such a good brother. Non judgmental.

And I like him with mustache. It's like meme of this series. I like it.

Harvey Dent was so human in the beginning of the episode: just his daily routine- coffee and missing meeting, he was like another human but the ending makes me wonder: if he really doesn't remember anything because it's his decease or somebody wants to frame him? It's interesting and I can't wait to see more.

This episode was good. COO didn't impress me, sadly, but other guys were great.

Still struggling to engage
ossie858 April 2023
Of Butchers and Betrayals is an episode of Gotham Knights that, while not terrible, struggles to engage me as a viewer. The episode follows Turner as he tracks down a notorious criminal known who is on the loose in Gotham City.

While the story has its moments of excitement, the episode fails to hook viewers in a meaningful way. The pacing is slow and uneven, with long stretches of dialogue that feel more like exposition than natural storytelling. As a result, I found myself wandering to thinking of better shows.

The characters in the episode are also somewhat flat, lacking the depth and complexity that has made Batman's rogues' gallery so memorable.

That being said, Of Butchers and Betrayals is not without its bright spots. The action scenes, while few and far between, are well-choreographed and visually impressive.

Ramping up
md872965 April 2023
So much happened in this episode and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. We get some big emotional moments, like Stephanie and Cullen's shared experience and Turner losing someone he trusted in a heartbreaking betrayal. We also got the first inklings of what is gearing up to be Harvey's devastating turn to Two-Face. Not to mention a creepy old lady, a serial killer of a bygone Gotham, and the Court of Owls cabal fully masked up for maximum intimidation. The knights are really starting to find their footing with each other and every time two or three characters break off from the group, we get a compelling dynamic. I can't wait to get to know these characters better and see where we're going as the season continues to ramp up!

Great great great episode!

Warning: Spoilers
CWGothamKnights being the kind of show that keeps you wanting the next episode immediately. 🙌🏻 The plot is starting to thicken and we're seeing more into the characters' backgrounds. It's just well written, beautifully casted and so purposefully detailed in every way possible.

Today's episode is just amazing. Harvey with memory loss, his suspicions about himself. Misha did a great job, he shows all the nuances so well, his face is so expressive! And he's so hot! Brickouse! Misha !!!

The first appearance of the Court of Owls and the resurrection of Talon, it was so great and terrifying!

Poor Turner, who found out the truth about Cressida, and Cullen and Stephanie, connecting through problems with their parents. Talon - The Butcher and his terrifying daughter (Veronica Cartwright was great). Smart Stephanie (I think she'll be my favorite character, like Robin) who understood everything about the toxin. And everything else.. it's not often that a show gets better with every episode, and Gotama Knights is exactly that show. I WANT to see the next episode right now. Great job! Everyone who created this show is just great!

Things are really heating up

Warning: Spoilers
So much was uncovered in this episode. First we're finally seeing the cracks in Harvey's personality. His memory losses can definitely be tied to the court of owls and the discovery Stephanie made later in the episode. Question is, is his assistant in on it? Stephanie and Cullen bond, while Harper still judges her. Duela and Carrie going undercover was great. I loved Duela's disguise, she really is my favorite of the knights. Poor Turners finds out he's been betrayed by Cressida, we all knew it was coming since episode one but was still upsetting to see. And the court of owls are even more sinister than I thought. The talon? How have they been keeping him alive? Are we going into zombie or reanimator territory? I need more now.

Wow! Best episode so far.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, Duella in the Alice wig was so fitting. A lot of humor and mystery here. The whole retirement home segment had me laughing and gave me chills at the same time. This show is very good. I think the problem was with the advertising for this show. It's not what it seems. This show isn't about the murder of Bruce Wayne. This show is about the Court of Owls, and what they're doing to ensure their control in Gotham City. Bruce Wayne/Batman represented the best of Gotham, and in taking him down, they showed that they can get to anyone. So I'm obviously anticipating the episode where they throw all that away for a group of teens to bust them, but who knows, maybe I'll be surprised. I've been wrong about my initial thoughts of this show thus far!

Wow!

Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching GK S4 ... so, my suspicions seem to be confirmed. The coin found on Batman disappeared from evidence and turns out Harvey got it. Same coin found on Mayor? And Harvey has the mayor's car key. Mmm ... more and more mysteries!

I don't think Harvey belongs to the Court of Owls, but certainly his dark side has committed a crime. And now March is his new opponent for mayor and has received a coin. Who sent it?

Harvey aside, all the crew was fantastic in this episode. Every character had a meaningful moment!

Special mention for Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, he really nailed the part and I cried when he discovered Cressida was a traitor and helped killing his father.

So, who is the Talon? A 100 year old serial killer? Wow!

This show is getting better and better and I'm in for all the next episodes!

Woah, woah woah WHAT?
nicola-8198412 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Woah I did not see that coming... the Talon is not a title but the SAME GUY been around more than a century??

Wow... this is fascinating. I want to know the faces behind these masks. I bet we've seen at least one of them before...

I was screaming at Turner not to go home... Cressida already showed herself to us as untrustworthy, but to lose the closest thing to family he had left... my heart broke for him. He's nailed the single man tear looking-good-while-crying thing already.

Duella is as delightfully deranged as ever, bonding with the daughter of the psycho killer... right up until she was out weirded!

I'm looking forward to watching the friendships and dynamics of the group changing as they get to know each other. Cullen and Stephanie bonding over shared childhood trauma despite their very different backgrounds was a high point, maybe he can make Harper see that money doesn't solve everything?

Harvey... what can I say? Misha at his best, saying little with his mouth and everything with his face.... we're starting to see those cracks forming, little glimpses that he's not always the one in control... and I love the cinematography they're doing on him keeping one half of his face in shadow a lot... Jennifer May Nickel has done an amazing job of putting Harvey and Two Face hints into his costumes too.

Love this show, renew it already!!

The storm is bearing down on Gotham.
vickybaxter9 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The set designers and their attention to detail are delectable. The trails of Easter egg sprinkled throughout the show make me want to check my Twitter account for more.

The red herrings scattered throughout the episode are seductive and draw me into the world of Gotham in ways I never imagined possible. There are a lot of questions and only a few answers. I've taken notes.

Lincoln March is in the rearview mirror, working for the Court of Owls, or so we are taught to believe. He seeks the role of Gotham's Major, as the old Major has been assassinated by the Owls. Who do they want to replace him, Lincoln or Havey?

The show's haze darkened abruptly. Bruce Wayne's lawyer had a mental episode and committed suicide. The house he once live littered with his babble from a mind that's been shattered by force. Then the girls, the old lady, the daughter of a serial killer. It seems she realises who the girls are and knows about the Court of Owls.

They we see Havey has sighed out the Court of Owls coin and he has no clue why. And he does not understand. Now is he a part of the Court of Owls and perhaps Turner's family is still alive and they own Gotham? Is Havey hiding behind the mask of owls?

Harvey's expression as he realizes he has the key to the limo speaks for itself. The spiral of the dissociation. It's no comfort and terrifying.

Props Dept Gags,.....
pidstr6 April 2023
Annnnnd,... they've done it again,.. do Actors really not know the props dept and the camera crews are having a laugh?

5 minutes in, and without spoilering the content of a scene, there's a pair of "TV Camera Operators" in the frame, each with a camera on their shoulder.

Thing is, the camera on the left of frame is missing a few items, first is the onboard microphone, goes in that loop above the operators right hand.

Second item it's missing, is a power source - there's no Battery on the back of it! Nor is there a cable in to the DC Power Input.

The camera on the right has analog sound meters, so it's positively ancient, doesn't look to have a battery either.

Well played Props Dept, well played indeed, getting actors to look silly on camera by showing they don't know enough about the gear to ask for a battery to be fitted for 'realism'.
