This film is amazing and gorgeous to look at! Great, great music and fantastic acting but the female lead. Also, solid monster vfx despite what had to be a low budget. Solid, solid work by the director and what a team he has behind him even for a film at the micro level. My only complaint is that his film left me on a cliffhanger and I want more!
I've seen the director's other film 'Folklore' a year earlier and I must say, this is a big jump forward for him in terms of style and skill.
The dop is great too even though it looks like he hasn't done that much as a cinematographer. Haunting lighting and beautiful setups.
Score reminded me of Danny Elfman. it's beautiful. Upon further review, it's the same one from 'Folklore' which is why it's so good.
