Larry Ravioli Premiere Event
lainersb5 May 2013
Summary: Slapstick comedy has a variety in innuendos. This one has gleaming jests of wisecracks. One act after another, the parallels are so tight you must be fully aware when viewing each scene or you may become confused since this slapstick is brilliantly fast paced with successions of dazzling genius. Woody Allen-Mad TV gone wild.

Based on the real life biography of a secret agent crooner, the real valorous gigs are too dangerous to discuss on film. This short film stated as a musical is only a byproduct- toot- tool to lure viewers to succumb to the Ravioli movie and watch it. Extremely shrewd to express as such since this has high cadenza notes of tremolo, crescendo laughter. A laugh track was added to allow you to smile wider along with the very humorous Three Stooges appeal. Unexpected not as a musical but that is what Larry does..... The unexpected to surprise you!

This triple threat talent gives generously to the viewer in many quick synopsis scenes which gives one moment time to think what is going to happen next. Larry keeps you guessing! There is not enough time in a short film to give all the increments one desires to see. Gina loves Larry is only a minor distraction to offset the real forces of slapstick danger to slap you in the face with more humor to spare.

Larry Ravioli projects all the emotions a real man should have in real life! He loves everything politically correct. Any viewer who slices and dices Larry as a no talent really lost a part of their own inspirations on life. The buzz buzz of show biz creates many kinds of friendships and to judge anyone is only judging oneself. The bottom line business here is slapstick! Slapstick requires great skills in funny and the cast reflected it in every scene! Humor over the top! Larry's wide eyed effulgence upon hearing his debts he must repay is one Oscar worthy moment in scene stealing! From the comedy of errors in the staircase scene to Denise the stalkers cake baking easy door escape route, my jaw was mixed up between laughing or smiling! So many slapstick quips, one had to keep the pace to watch with intensity of the skills rolling forth on the screen! Wise talents of pure fun!

I only regret that at the very end of this short, flick, film biography was I wanted more of "Ravioli, el Dante! " Larry's consistent foibles are right to the end crashing yet another hilarious debt he must repay to the floor ! Sad I had to see this short film end so abruptly with hilarious fashion! Props to this winning short film! Pass the Italian sauce for an encore !

An overall fun evening!

I had the opportunity of catching the "Larry Ravioli" premier/concert at Hunter College in New York city last week, and I must say it was quite entertaining! They're were some pretty funny moments shared by the multi-cultural cast and a enjoyable vocal performance by Mr. Costa. After the event at Hunter, we all headed off to the After Party at Teqa, a local restaurant/nightclub which proved to be a trendy ,atmosphere with a good D.J as well. I feel that it was extremely gracious of Larry to extend this movie premiere/concert/after party to all attendees, "FREE OF CHARGE". I would strongly recommend catching Mr Costa at a live performance and look forward to his next project.

Larry Costa Mafia Film
kjudyg3 May 2013
I have to disagree with the last comments, keep in mind Lucky was a funny show so why not include that kind of humor in a film today! I was at the premiere of this film, Larry invited me and it's an interesting take on a mob story with a singer as the one who must pay a debt, Vinny Vella's opening line is a hoot, wanting to wear lipstick when he Hear's Larry sing! unexpected humor right off the bat, everyone has their own idea's of comedy, it is a stylish take on an old Idea! I'd like to see part two if there is one, everyone in the film was great! Hogwash to negative Nellie's who haven't got a clue about what is tasteful and creative. They don't have a creative bone in their bodies...Mr. Costa's Team does!

A REAL REVIEW IN le'tage magazine

Warning: Spoilers

Saturday evening was all hustle and bustle at the Tribeca Film Festival's closing night. There was a lot of energy taking place at Manhattan's Upper East Side Hunter College auditorium. All eyes were on Larry Costa and his talented cast. The cast was mingling with the guests before the show. It was a warm and inviting reception. When the lights dimmed… The audience was serenaded by the theatrical voice of Larry Costa…A man of many talents. His music and handsome looks are a cross between James Dean, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Costa took an untraditional approach before his screening by singing some tunes to the audience, which received rave reviews.

Then it was screening time… The world premiere pilot of Larry Ravioli. A group of very talented actors entertained the audience. Larry Costa was joined by costars Casey Bartolucci, Jane Hagerty and Vinny Vela. What an ensemble! It can be best described as a theatrical mafia parody which reminded me a bit like a cross between Quentin Tarantino, Monty Python and Woody Allen. That is a very big mix… But it is unique. It is very refreshing to see something new on the screen. With a little bit of editing/sound tweaking; I give Larry Ravioli a thumbs up. It certainly is hard to make it in show biz… But I think this talented cast has a lot to share with the world. So if you would please…May I have some more ravioli!

By far the BEST adaptation of a classic type TV series for the big screen.

Warning: Spoilers
I just saw a screening of Larry Ravioli and it was great! I don't know how to explain it but it successfully carried the tone of an original series. It was silly but not too silly and, at the same time, a little serious but not too serious. New characters, music, jokes and lines all brought back fond memories of a delightful TV series that needs to be produced. And there were plenty of new elements in this film that made it interesting and entertaining to watch. Larry Costa was terrific as Larry Ravioli and seemed to capture the essence of the character (well, it was written for him). Not only did his portrayal of himself come across brilliantly on screen, but the sound of his voice to the delivery of the lines, Costa managed to inject a bit of his own real personality to create a new Larry that didn't stray too far away from the old. Jane Hagerty was perfect as Gina The Assassin. She did bear some resemblance to Peg Bundy and actually delivered her lines in a similar manner as her at times. But more importantly, she had great chemistry with Costa. A key ingredient in Larry Ravioli's success is Ravioli's and Gina's chemistry.

I wish I could get into more details but I don't want to give anything away. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and highly recommend this to anyone. Oh, did I mention that I get chills when I listen to Larry Costa sing? This man can put a song over like no one's business.

This is an excellent short film that I would recommend to all!

Loved this short film as it was comical as well as having one of my favorite singers, Larry Costa... Was a wonderful time seeing the movie screened. It featured a lot of up and coming actors in the entertainment industry. Larry was great and is a close personal friend and is a solid actor as well as being an awesome international singer that sings along the same style as Frank Sinatra, but I think that he adds a whole other level as a throwback crooner.I would love if he would parlay this short film into a feature film in the not so distant future. I wish that more short film would be done in the same fashion as this one. In summary, I Would without question recommend this film to all who enjoy a good laugh! :)
