It did it's job.

The finale made me feel like the story is now over, however sad I am about it, but it can't go on forever.

The good bit: I was really worried about what Kohan would do with Andy and Nancy's relationship/friendship but was glad with what I saw. Feel like Nancy got what she deserved on those terms but at the same time, everybody was left content with their lives.

The not so: Considering it was set good few years into the future, the episode still seemed to be very sci-fi and unrealistic (what is it with those phones?!) But the whole of Season 8 was rushed - I kinda get it, 8 years in production, people get fed up.

There are no more episodes to look forward to but loads to remember.

I'm really gonna miss all those awesome characters - thank you, Jenji Kohan, for creating them.

And I am getting a box set to keep on my shelf in case the nostalgia becomes unbearable. :D

Decent ending to a fantastic series

Warning: Spoilers
I was not expecting this ending at all, but I was happy with the outcome. They did skip about 15 years or so that could have been made into an extra couple of seasons but you kind of realize that, we probably didn't miss out much. I feel like people are giving this episode a really bad rep just because they fast forwarded time, and they're kind of missing the point. It's the series finale and this episode wraps up everything that went on in the series. The episode it self gives me a sense on nostalgia, tying things all the way back to the first episode. It was very moving the way the episode ended do to the emotions you see everyone going through in the final few minutes of Stevie's party. I must say that the final scene is one I will remember for a long while, it was expertly written to show everyone on the porch and it made me reflect back on everyone of the characters passed mistakes or just things they did. And like the others stated before me I love how they ended the series with, non other than weed.

Perfect Ending.

Warning: Spoilers
I call that a happy ending. Everyone had a future each looked forward to with a smile. The plot lines were tied up nicely. We got to see characters from the past resolved. Even Doug made peace with his son even though he had to kidnap him twice to do so. Guiermo wasn't trying to kill Nancy. Stevie found out the truth about his history. It even looked like Shane would finally deal with his demons. There were no more secrets. Despite all her mistakes and deficiencies as a mother Nancy knew her children still loved her and were moving on with their lives and she was free to create a new future for herself. The jump into the future made me think about how much it is going to change in the next several years. The technology jumps were exciting to think about. All in all a perfect ending.

Best series ever

Warning: Spoilers
After reading the previous reviews i was furious and decided to write one too so, The fast forward to the future is kind of annoying, and disappointing but i can see why it was put into the show and why. While most series nowadays are repetitive this show had a circle and ended with what it should have, weed. Maybe Nancy was alienated by everyone bu in the end there was nobody who was angry or mad at her. She made them go through a lot but it payed off at the end and while a couple more episodes could have been nice, there was not much to show instead of preparation and waiting for legalization. After all was done and a very successful business was set up, and even when Nancy thought she had lost her way, what Stevie said made her realize that what she had done was worth it, and in the end she spent the time with the people she loved and was near her all that time. That is life you can't keep your loved ones forever near but being able to see them whenever you feel like is comforting, and in the end it was weed that mattered because its most powerful effect is bringing people together and that exactly is what it did. Great show, it never was boring and it ended where it should have, unlike most shows today that squeeze every last cent they can in exchange of the quality and the excitement of the viewers, until they are sick of them!

One of my favourite endings.

Yes, the last 2 seasons are ..... Rocky but The ending completely makes up for it to me.

So many characters returning including Josh (yey).

Rounds up all the character stories.

Also Natasha Lyonne popping up.

Not really sure how to feel
robbiea981 November 2016
Pretty cheesy ending to what was a very good comedy series. It felt like they were trying to cram everyone's 10-15 year stories into one episode. Felt pretty disappointed at the end. They could have done it a lot better. Good to see everyone but it just forces you to assume what has happened in the last 10 years because you're never really told which would have been to good to find out. Very cheesy at the end and was lacking the humour that made the series so memorable. And finally disappointed not to see Celia again!

Sad to see such a good series go out this way.

I think they could have done a couple more episodes or another season instead of this two bit episode.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
A comedy show which is wrapped up with a straight drama story? I am a huge fan of Weeds, but this ending did not work well for me. It was pretentious and preachy and had almost no humor. Sure, there were good actors and a bunch of other cool stuff, but it was too neat and tidy, while also being too moralistic. Until now we had an irreverent left- wing show with a protagonist, Nancy, that admirably dared to lead a different lifestyle. This ending makes a U-turn, telling us like some narrow-minded conservative that the wages of her off-beat lifestyle is that she can never achieve happiness. She is described as being pretty much a failure as a human being, having alienated her two eldest sons and lost the man she really loved, but whom she kept stringing along without consummation for years. The irony is that the reason she had such a not-really-relationship with Andy is purely that this was one of the plot-points that kept the story rolling, i.e. the fault of the show's writers. Meta-like, that narrative design element has now turned into a tragic and in my view nonsensical culmination of the character drama.

Shane's part in the tragedy is no less; his character was always extremely cool and destined for some form of greatness, but he fell in with a crooked alcoholic cop and then became one himself. That utterly sucks. This was always a lighthearted, fun and provocative show, and then they give us a somber, down-beat ending that caters to establishment values? NOT okay in my book. Yes, I know we are expected to edgily embrace the unexpected and reject happy endings like the well- pierced goths this show is mainly aimed at, but... Nah. This pessimism doesn't work for me. It's not fair to the characters that we have come to see as so cool and out-of-the-box. And it's not fair to the progressives in the audience, who had every right to expect something rather more radical. Nor is it fair to the various writers of the show, who have gone out of their way to write intelligent anti-establishment satire, and effectively spawned those two other cool shows with bad guys in the spotlight, Dexter and Breaking Bad.

Boo.

sad way to end an excellent show.

Warning: Spoilers
Just watched the last two episodes of Weeds. There's no heads up this time for the massive time gap (again). The majority of what I watched just annoyed me and I didn't enjoy what I was watching at all.

To be honest the show ended well last season, even though it was a little odd. Season eight seemed rushed and pointless and to end like this seems like a complete waste of time to be honest, so why even bother with it? Showtime normally present stellar shows and you know that what you watch is going to be good. Not this time.

If you just found Weeds and are reading this, Do not watch series 8, ever.

If it had ended with season 7 Ending aka not knowing if the Nancy or if not ... would been a great ending similar to the sopranos .... But not instead we get a dystopian future ending !

Nancy's Funeral

With all the misery and deaths that Nancy caused, the series should have ended with everyone attending her funeral - better closure.

This Show cloud of had a few mores in it........Stevie (Character) WHY ? Weeds (TV series) Stevie – It's Time, Part 1 (2012) … Stevie

– It's Time, Part 2 (2012) … Stevie I think that the writer and Diector let this show end too soon .........
