nice package

It is just a short film saved by...animation. because the story use, in not the most impressive manner, few cliches about middle age man front to his first computer. and the mix between humour and compassion is more than fragile. sure, the animation is so seductive than the absence of story is not a problem because it is not only a beatiful film but it has the virtue to be real, real short.so, a nice package with a symbolic ... drawing of story.

Looks great but the actual content is lacking

A man gets rid of all his old 45's and buys himself a sleek new computer so that he can download all the music he wants. However with a predicted download time of months his patience is stretched.

The first thing to say is kudos for Liron Topaz for this film which looks far, far better than the student film it is - I have seen studio films where the computer animation doesn't look this good (not "good" studio films perhaps, but you get my point – this is impressive for what it is). I liked the flow of the animation throughout and he's done a good job there and it must have taken him many months to do it all since it was more or less an one man effort. That said I would have liked more in the content. The basic joke is an older man buying his first computer and being lost – not really understanding how it works and just hoping for the best (until frustration get him). Speaking as someone who's father refuses to save anything to his very nice desktop computer because it will "get full" (he puts things on CD-R instead), there is a certain humour in this truth but it is not very well written out.

The download bar makes no sense, and it going backwards doesn't either and these things are the devices for the comedy, thus weakening it. There are lots of funnier things that could have happened here but such as they are just a little obvious and I didn't find the film particularly funny. Again, credit to Topaz for the quality of the animation because it is a very impressive film in that regard, just lacking in the content.
