An excellent look into the music industry from the perspective of up-and-coming acts. It's an honest and sobering account of just how saturated the market is and how quickly and easily an artist can get lost in the void.
It does a great job of showing the seemingly endless obstacles that can discourage artists, but also makes a great point of showing off the beautiful side of this industry too, the music! The bands showcased are mostly / all from the LA scene hence the title. But the information rings true everywhere and I think LA serves as a good cross-section anyway. With accounts from not just bands but, club owners, producers, engineers, managers etc. This is an excellent representation from several angles.
