At first each characters quirks were what made them likable and funny, but this and recent episodes seem to have these quirks amplified to the point where the characters are becoming more annoying and less likable.
For example, Janine is kind of pathetic: she constantly needs validation, has no friends, and is clueless to how the world works around her. Gregory is this sad man child that thinks he's entitled to a senior role because he went to school. The interaction between these two characters is becoming awkward too. Jacob also has an irritating enthusiasm towards everything that no human can ever possess, let alone an underpaid and overworked teacher.
Barbara and Melissa are the only redeeming characters. Ava is an embellished trope that is quite funny, but also unrealistic and a bit too forced .
I hope the character writing improves, otherwise I may chalk this show up to "it started strong and went downhill by season 2"
