Investing in modern art
Tweekums10 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
During a party Frank is impressed when he learns how much the host makes buying and selling modern art and decides to invest in it himself. To this end he sends Torgeir to Oslo to make a purchase... Frank is not impressed with his choice; it may be by one of Norway's up and coming artists but as far as he is concerned the large drawing looks like a monkey receiving oral sex! Not wanting it he sends Torgeir back and discovers it was stolen and the original seller was the very man who pointed him in the direction of that dealer! That isn't his only problem this week; he can't get the pushchair Sigrid wants for the twins and one of his business partners sells his majority share in the development when he believes he has cancer... surprisingly the dubious picture provides a solution to all of these problems in unexpected ways. Meanwhile Geir, the suspended policeman, is asking questions about Frank in New York; the police say they have no idea who Frank is but it seems they have links to the Mafia and Geir is getting himself into a dangerous situation.

This episode had plenty of laughs and one genuine shock; it is fun watching Frank's 'bull in a china shop' approach to life as he gets his way with his various business partners. His treatment of Sigrid is less amusing and stands to show us that while he is an entertaining character he isn't a very nice person really. The plot involving the painting provided plenty of laughs and I could see why he didn't want to keep it. Surprisingly the main interest this week was Geir's adventure in New York, it may have only taken a small portion of the episode's run time but the events there will almost certainly have the greatest effect on future episodes.
