Set in Lourenco Marques in 1875, the film follows two groups of riders transporting dynamite to the gold mines. The first to reach the mines, will receive a sizable amount.
One of the transporters is Piet Jordaan (Andre Huguenot), a short tempered and rather rude man with no time to waste. Meantime, Anna (Wena Naude) and Rina (Berdine Grunewald) hitch a ride with Dirk De Vos (Gert van den Bergh), on their way to the gold mines. When De Vos' car gets stuck, Piet offers the three of them a ride.
Another transporter, Jannie van Graan (Japie van Niekerk), will do everything in his power to prevent Piet from reaching the gold mines first. What follows is pure adventure, and also a generous dose of funny moments, and even romance. Along the way they face many obstacles and life-threatening situations.
'Inspan' takes the viewer on an adventure through uncharted territory, with an action-packed, exciting finale.
