Routine episode.
bosporan9 April 2022
Erin is all-too easily emotionally blackmailed into reviewing a case, Danny and Maria search for a kidnapped child and Frank struggles with a decision to make an ageing vigilante marine a cop. Each of these stories had potential, but the writers chose convention over novelty. For example I considered the marine had been staging his heroics to force Frank's hand.

The strongest plotline is Jamie and Eddie bickering over how to deal with fighting cops. It is disturbing that Eddie thinks violence is an acceptable response to misogyny, Henry chips in and Jamie produces a sort of Solomonic solution.

Decent episode, but the writing is becoming jaded.

It is not OK for women to punch men

We all agree that assaults are illegal. Why was the female cop not charged with assault for punching a male cop and breaking his nose? We need EQUALITY & CONSISTENCY. It is NOT OK for women to punch men.

A tetrahedral gem of an episode
sannyex9 April 2022
This current episode has 4 apices involving Frank & 1P, Jamie, Erin, Danny. As the other 3. Frank's team has to face an unorthodox interview; Jamie & Gramps face a Solomonic decision; Erin & Anthony deal with a sneaky case; Danny & Baez have to execute a humane warrant. Again the writers serve a 4-corner episode in almost perfect symmetry and why I continue to watch & love this series. I am Catholic and always on the lookout for that rare homily even if it's only Friday.

Garrett is a whiny puss

And don't even get me started on Jenko. I find both characters tedious and meddlesome. The Jamie/Edie relationship drama, is very "soap opera", and diminishes the show.

A better title would have been "Unhappy Endings"

Warning: Spoilers
Usually "Blue Bloods" is uplifting, but not this episode. This may spoil it for those who haven't seen the episode, but each of the four segments ended in disappointment.

A policewoman punches a policeman in the face (leaving quite a mark, and possibly a fractured nose) because she thinks her daughter should get more ice time on a boy's hockey team - and the result is that the policeman gets duty preventing him from coaching the team, while the woman is virtually unpunished.

A former cocaine dealer turns his life around in prison, serves out his time, and then gets sent back to prison for wanting to take care of his son. Meanwhile they make it clear that the boy's adoptive mother is struggling, now that her husband is deceased. So it's not as if this will work out great for the boy or his father.

A marine in NYC acts quickly in two situations to save lives and stop robberies, yet Frank decides the man is "not right" for the NYPD. This despite Frank's son Danny being an ex-Marine and an excellent cop.

I'm not sure what happened in other other episode. But a man who ultimately confesses which would free a man from prison says that the man in prison has done "much worse" than the crime he was convicted of. So presumably they are letting out a guy innocent of the crime he's in for, but still letting out a very bad guy. Unless somehow that turned out differently than where it seemed to be going (I missed that part, if they showed it).

Bottom line, please no more episodes like this one. They can't all be happy endings, but 4/4 bummer endings is too much.

Shut Up, Garrett
gwzct30 October 2022
I don't hate Garrett as a character but I'm not really a fan either. That said, he must be high or something in this episode. Honestly though, the fault lies with the writers here. His argument about the Marine makes absolutely zero sense considering thousands of police officers are combat veterans. While it isn't a perfect transition because our objectives are very different, there are a great many skill sets that are learned in ANY branch of the military that translate well into law enforcement work. Some guys do need the all-day, every day military mindset trained out of them, but I have worked with many veterans who are awesome cops. Garrett's stance is utter nonsense. As far as the rest of the episode, it's standard stuff.

One of the worst shows of season
teolewis19 April 2022
Ugh, this show was awful especially Jamie and Eddie. Eddie is so awful. I really wish they would get rid of her. She needs to go into some kind of counseling occupation. She's shameful as an law enforcement officer.

Get Rid Of Eddie
coreycitn639 April 2022
I have had it with Eddie Janko. She totally emasculated Jamie and Jamie can't make a decision without her input. Jamie you are supposed to be a police sergeant and to lead. Just because the other sergeant is a woman doesn't justify her to hit a subordinate even if he is a sexist. You can not have an unstable police officer. Linda never treated Danny like Eddie treats Jamie. This has got to be the worst season of Blue Bloods.
