Sacrificing their sole source of survival for survival.

Warning: Spoilers
It seems like tragedy followed around these two Eskimo children left behind by their hunting father who has failed to return. They have to return to their village so they leave their camp, having already been stalked by wolves (first stealing their supply of winter fish and later fresh eggs), and then a vicious wolverine, tossing it caribou deer meat to get rid of the nasty critter. The older sister does everything by Instinct, while the much younger brother loves the animals meant for eating which softens his sister's heart. With the arctic winter fast approaching, they need to seriously find food.

A very informative docudrama from Disney, narrated by Andrew Duggan, and quite entertaining. It's funny at times but often quite dramatic such as when a snarling wolf mother has them trapped in a hunting cabin after two playful pups follow them. It seems that every moment of finding food is ruined by something else. Small children might be disturbed by the prospect of these cuddly birds becoming a tasty meal, especially the first discovery of chirping baby birds big enough for a meal for each of them. By the time they do catch them I was chirping, "It's about time!" A very interesting view of the hardships of Eskimo life that would be difficult for adults, let alone kids.
