"The Voice" - The Battles Continue - Oct. 22, 2012
The battles continue.
First up is Team CeeLo with Alexis Marceaux vs. Daniel Rosa. They are set to sing "Whataya Want From Me?" by Adam Lambert. Cee Lo paired them because he thinks they both have an indie vibe. Rob Thomas tells Alexis not to enunciate so precisely. They tell Daniel he should feel more confident than he looks because he sounds good. They tell him to believe in himself. At the final rehearsal Cee Lo tells them he has no bias going into this. Daniel is worried about hitting the high notes. Cee Lo says the reward is in the risk. At the battle Daniel sounds good but looks very nervous. She's more confident out of the box and also sounds good. They both do well without ever being particularly spectacular. Cee Lo picks Daniel. No one steals Alexis.
Next up is Team Adam with Nicole Nelson vs. Brandon Mahone. They sing the classic Marvin Gaye-Tammi Terrell duet "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Nicole feels like she has a bit of an advantage because she's older and has more experience and has no confidence issues. Brandon is nervous. They both sound great in rehearsal. Adam and Mary try to buck Brandon up and she talks about how their stories of coming from the hood are similar. In the battle they both sound great and sound strong togeher but Nicole-- centered, strong, confident-- is clearly dominant over Brandon who is good but showing a little of the strain. Adam picks Nicole. No one steals Brandon.
We then get a montage of other battles and see snippets: Loren Allred was chosen by Adam. Cassadee Pope was chosen by Blake. And Joe Kirkland was chosen by Adam.
Next up is Team Xtina with Devyn Deloera vs. MarissaAnn. They sing "Free Your Mind," by En Vogue. Christina wants them to attack the song a little more. Billie Joe says if they accidentally spit on them it's okay. They also advise them to try and mesh together better. At the final rehearsal Christina tells Devyn to dial it back a little on the ad libs and to pick her spots. At the battle they really "confront" each other. They harmonize well. They both overdo it a little with the posturing but they sound uniformly strong. Christina picks Devyn. Blake steals MarissaAnn.
At the end of the night, Adam's team is complete. Blake and Cee Lo each have one spot left. Christina has one spot and one steal left.

"The Voice" - The Battles Continue - Oct. 23, 2012
It's the final night of the battles.
First up is Team Xtina with Adriana Louise vs Jordan Pruitt. They sing "Hot n Cold" by Katy Perry. Christina tells Adriana to be a little more aggressive. Adriana is a little nervous that Jordan has more experience. Billie Joe praises both their voices. At the battle they both start fairly strong with Jordan having a little more edge. It's pretty evenly matched with maybe Adriana hitting a couple of little clunkers but also hitting some great high notes. Christina chooses Adriana.
Next up is Team Blakewith Kelly Crapa vs Michaela Paige. They sing "I Hate Myself For Loving You" by Joan Jett. Blake tells Michaela not to over sing. Michael Buble tells Kelly to sing out like Michaela. At the final rehearsal Kelly takes the notes and Blake is proud. He's very sweet with them since they're both teenagers. At the battle they both come out swinging. They're staging/presence isn't much as they just confront each other. But they hold their ground vocally. Blake chooses Michaela. Christina doesn't steal Kelly.
Next up is Team Cee Lo with Avery Wilson vs Chevonne. They sing "Titanium" by David Guetta and Sia. Cee Lo thinks it will be a battle between age and experience since Avery is 16 and Chevonne and 26. Rob Thomas thinks Chevonne kills it. Cee Lo wants them to bring the drama and contrast to the performance. He also wants Avery to be more consistent. At the battle he starts strong-- and has great tone-- she is also strong and flashier. They also sound good together. She's very active and dynamic and he's more laid back and the consistency Cee Lo wanted was there. Cee Lo chooses Avery. Christina steals Chevonne.
And the teams are complete.
