nerdy girls unite!
butterfly-4516 March 2011
Awkward Embraces is witty, funny, and totally relate-able for anyone finding themselves on the dating scene. Who doesn't have an awkward dating story? *especially* the nerds in the crowd!! this show brings awkward to the next level and yet i still find it full of refreshing characters and situations that are hysterically familiar!

Jessica, Candis, and Lyndsey take the best (read: worst), the funniest, and the most awkward parts of the dating scene and offer them up for your viewing pleasure!

Awkward Embraces is worth every minute you spend watching, re-watching, and making all of your friends watch.

nerdy girls need love too. :D

Amazing!!!!

This is a great series! Geek or no geek, this series will have you giggling and laughing all the way through! It's very well written with lots of twists and turns. Sweet endearing moments mixed with well, yes, lots of awkward moments! You get totally swept up in the characters, rooting them on each time, "You can do it! You can do it! Oh, Oh, is it going to work?" It goes well just enough times to leave you hoping for the best with each date, never knowing if the awkwardness will win out or not. The cast has really good chemistry with each other and such spot-on comic timing. The humor is always so intelligent and great at playing up the subtleties of the moment.

So incredibly funny!!!!!! And fun!!!!! And smart!!!!! Love it!!!!

People are not as normal as they seem,,,,
brett-dasilva18 October 2011
Jessica Mills plays the geek girl in the show Awkward Embraces. Her friends Lyndsey Doolen and Candis Phlegm try to turn her "normal" throughout the show. Little do they know that they have their own neurosis and are not as "normal" as they might think. For instance Candis is a closet Fanilow, or fan of Barry Manilow, which ends up getting her in trouble on a date with another Fanilow. It shows you that being "normal" is not all it is cracked up to be, and that everyone has their own thing. In the end the three friends manage to look past their weirdness and stay friends and are there for each other when dates go bad. The show is cleverly written and I think the characters are written pretty close to home for these women.

Warning: Spoilers
*minor, but not really, spoiler(s)*

Finally! A show that *really portrays life as we (geeky) women experience it! But...even funnier. Awkward Embraces takes all those cringe-worthy moments and lets you enjoy them for once. I just want to hug everyone on this show and say "thank you, thank you, thank you". And then re-watch the series for the 19th time.

Jessica is so adorable and lovable as she stumbles through the dating world. It's so great to watch her do goofy things like (spoiler-ette) chat up a guy and then run off without getting any info, and yell "omg! It's not just me that does that!" Lyndsey and Candis are such great friends, trying to help Jessica out. But they are not just two-dimensional "friend" characters. They each have their own stories and foibles. The three of them together are a great burst of good girl friends energy.

A show to enjoy
cristian-loyola00718 October 2011
This web series sets a point of view not common for a "dating" web series. The "geek" and "nerd" terms have come to a new meaning these days, and this show is capable of making the process of understanding the geeky people a lot easier, and the process of dating, and the situations generated from it, are just hilarious. Geekyness aside, the show is capable of showing the point of view of dating of the woman today in a fresh and lovable way. Every character goes through situations sometimes too funny, and for that, maybe unbelievable, but the thing that got my personal love for this show, is that some of the situations presented, have happened to me.

The recommendation is to relax and watch, this is a show to enjoy.
