Very well made playful short with a fisherman and physics

A fisherman is out at sea when he catches a fish with a small amount of matter which drops into the boat. As he returns to shore for the night, the matter continues to rapidly expand along the path of theoretical physics, making his fishing trip the next morning into a more interesting experience.

It was by chance I watched this short film without really knowing anything about it, or the meaning behind the title. The story isn't really a "meaning" but just a "telling" but it does so in a nice way if you know a little bit about physics, black holes and all that stuff (which most of us do since we get junk science on TV and via the media due to projects such as the Collider etc). It tells slowly and although I didn't always know where it was going, it did end in a satisfying way with some nice images and ideas. Indeed the whole animation was really well done. In some ways there is lots of detail but in others there is white space, allowing the focus on the core and also providing a nice sense of peaceful emptiness around the focal point. This in turn is well complimented by the sound effects of the ocean and birds, which was engaging.

Well worth checking it out as it is a simple animation which is playful, peaceful and well made.

its simplicity

...represents the lead virtue. A fisherman, a strange thing , a poetic story and lovely drawings. The sounds, the house, the work of entity and a sort of trip around small things defining us. All - more than seductive. Because , ignoring explanations- from art to physics- , the film works in well manner , being more than beautiful and almost fascinating.
