Slow paced but touching Iranian movie

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie at the Cork Film Festival.

The movie opens with a middle aged smuggler being released from prison to find his wife has not waited for him. We find out that his son had drowned in a navy accident a month before.

Eventually it becomes clear that drowning accidents have had a big part in the mans life and will continue to.

By pure chance he is arrested in connection with the death of a young boy at a remote lake. It turns out he knows the chief investigating policeman and they share a tragic secret.

As the investigation continues we see into life of the policeman and his wife, which has its own sad story.

The movie is very slow paced but if the viewer sticks with it they will be rewarded with a thoughtful and satisfying classic.

Definitely the type of movie you will only see at an art house cinema or at a festival but nonetheless enjoyable.
