A decent series, I've seen better.

An ITV documentary series, which examines the murders that could, and perhaps should have been linked to Peter Sutcliffe, the crimes he was not convicted of.

It's a very dry series, it's watchable, it's informative, I'd argue the Netflix series is superior, it gives more detail, explains in more depth what happened any why.

This does feel just like a witch hunt on the Police, they definitely deserve a great deal of criticism, and catastrophic mistakes were made, at the same time, The Police didn't have the tools, intelligence, nor the symptoms, one of the speakers virtually implies that The Police intentionally didn't hunt down Sutcliffe.

Overall, I did find elements really good, I found some of it very slow. All in all, not bad, 6/10.

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

Warning: Spoilers
If only the police would have listened to the female victims then they would have realised that the perpetrator of these crimes, later proven to be Peter Sutcliffe, was indeed the 'Yorkshire Ripper' rather than someone from near Sunderland as a hoaxer led them to believe (which led the press to dub the killer 'Wearside Jack' for many years).

By failing to listen to the survivors who said he had a 'soft Yorkshire accent', failing to communicate with other police forces around the country and failing to even recognise that the murders were committed by the same man simply because of slight differences in MO, what Yorkshire police did was enable him to continue his murder spree not just in Yorkshire but in Essex, Bakewell and Manchester too.

What's every bit as awful is that 3 men spent around 20 years in prison for murders they didn't commit that were in fact committed by Sutcliffe because 3 different police forces pressured confessions out of innocent men and suppressed evidence!

What happened in this case is scandalous and damning of police forces around the country as it shows up heir incompetence and corruption.

Shame on the police and eternal shame on Sutcliffe himself!

Stupid Cops

I was more than happy to see on screen what I've seen in real life.

I was really upset at how slow the cops were with connecting the crimes.

There were way to many murders. Half of those could have been stopped.

The best part of this was showing how stupid the detectives and cops were.

Super sad for all the families that will never get the justice they deserve.

Same context, different murders

With any yorkshire ripper documentary you always have a formula; the police expert who think the police of the 1970s should of adhered to the current standard of policing, the fat feminist who always uses the term "sex worker" instead of prostitute, and am assortmentof low iq so called experts offering nothing new. Honestly the first episode got boring after ten minutes, just being honest.

A biased documentary with the 100% benefit of hindsight

This is a complete hatchet job on the police and is so biased. Yes the police made mistakes but this is a left wing Guardian reading exercise in attacking the police.

I can't believe they even criticised the police for being happy at catching the killer.

There is no insight into the mind of the killer. This is a vanity project for the journalists to say how important and clever they are.

Don't waste your time.
