Low budget recycled army movie with full of advertisements. How more an army movie in Singapore can be more exiting? The jokes went over my head. It's 2022, perhaps it's time to restructure Singapore movie? If you have some spare time to waste and some spare money to waste, then this movie is for you.

Watched it on Netflix. This show presents Singapore's military training as a big joke. The show has very poor stereotyped characters and way too many product placements. Watching the first 15 mins feels like a long commercial as it has so many product placements. I do not even understand how they can make a follow up movie. Will recommend you to watch the movie if you don't have a sense of humor, you are shallow and you have completely nothing to do and have completely watched all the other shows on Netflix. In fact I think typing this review was way more interesting than the show itself. So... be warned.

While I'm not a Jack Neo fan, I've watched most of his movies to "support local movies". And I'm glad to have watched this one! I don't think I've laughed so loudly in a cinema. I actually enjoyed this more than the tedious (badly written) 2-hr "Uncharted" that I had watched the day before.
Many have talked about the product placements, but TBH, I hardly noticed the brand names. Even Hollywood movies are less discreet about highlighting the brands!
All in all, while a few bits were, yes, lame, it was generally a funny & entertaining movie for this local girl who, being more accustomed to movies from America & the UK, never thought she would gush about & enjoy a local movie this much.
Some (most?) of the dialogue are very colloquial, so may not be comprehended by those unfamiliar with the Singapore lingo. To Singaporeans, go watch & put a smile on your face, which is much needed especially these days.

After watching I want to pluck out my eyes from my eye sockets and bleach it I think I also need to pray after watching this absolute crap. I now think that jack neo is just trying to copy the success of his previous army films and it doesn't seem to be working at all and he still has the audacity to make two of these trashy films. From a person who grew up with films,I am so f ing disappointed. The film is plotless and every "emotional " scene makes me regret spending two hours of my life on this trash. He even mentions one of his own movies in this one. The amount of sponsors and product placements is noticible as well. If a third one comes out I'm bashing my head against a wall.

The movie incooperate a good storyline with strong character development and it really explores some of the new faces coming up. In terms of the general structure of the writing, i would say it shows a very different side of your usual Jack Neo's film. Additionally, some of the jokes were really funny in my opinion and u will not expect it.
Although the set of the film reminds me of my secondary school, it doesnt feel like a $2 million film as the cinematography, set and prop in the movie makes you feel like you are watching another Marvel movie.
Overall, the film live above expectation, we get to see all characters different stories and development. I would say diffinately one of the best film of 2022.

Nothing but advertisement

I watched it on Netflix and I cannot imagined if I were to see it in the cinema, I may asked for a full refund. It was nothing but a total advertisement movie. Jack Neo is repeating the entire storyline and has no shame to hide his objective is just to earn money. Jack Neo used to be one of the better directors in Singapore but now, with all these productions, he is now in the bottom list. The jokes are absolutely not laughable, and the cinematography, honestly, TV series nowadays can do better. There are many other movies produced by Singapore, if not all, are so much better than this. Jack Neo is still in his past success and repeatedly using the same techniques, thinking that the movie goers are still that naive. Many directors are pushing their limits to reach new heights but his standard is definitely going south.
Would give it a zero star if I could

Disappointed and disgusted with this "movie", haven't seen any other movie that's WORSE than this. This is even worse than a lot of tv shows. It is a total waste of time. There were so many parts where I just cringed so badly and wished that this wasn't produced by a singapore director. It is truly a disgrace to our nation to even call this rubbish a movie.
This was obviously produced just to make money from the sponsors, the naive locals who'd go watch this just because they want to support a local movie. The product placements were too much and annoying. Jack neo is treating singaporeans like idiots. Someone said it felt like an extended advertisement, it is so true.

One of the most movie I've ever watched. Out the way, James Cameron! Jack Neo is the future of movie directing.
I admit; when I first saw the many negative reviews and watched this movie for the first time, I was not quite sold. It seemed boring, lacked innovation and direction. It was missing the movie you are looking for in a movie.
And then I went home to reflect on myself. And then this movie reminded me about my uncle who is learning disabled. My uncle loves porridge. And that's when I realised this movie resembles porridge.
It has no taste. It is nourishment that everyone can digest. The world needs porridge, just like how the world needs movies like these.
This is without a doubt, the greatest movies I've ever watched. Absolutely life-changing. Kudos to you, Jack Neo and your team!

This movie is awesome and good. Didn't even disappointed me. Watched 4 times, but still not enough. I don't understand why people out there didn't like this movie the advertisement of the movie is not even alot!? I'm really appreciate all the good work for them. Can't wait to support my favourite actors in this movie on June!

From the look from the trailler I was initially hesitant to watch the film because it looked very cringy and felt Jack neo lost his touch.but because I was a fan of Samantha Tan who was a ex talent from Night Owl cinematics. I decided to give it a try and I loved it the movie
Let me Start of with Samantha's Performance in the film. Samantha did a great job playing as the suck up character . She reminds me of Aloysius Jin from The ABTM movies but she didnt try to copy him . She was Goh Bee Bee and my only complain about her character was she didnt have enough screen time .
Also a Very Memorable character was Recruit Princess . She was supposed to be this self entitled snob but as her character develops she became a more loving and caring for her other recruits . She has shown her caring side when she tied the rope to one of the recruits leg when she found out something was wrong with her to alarm her when the recruit moves or goes anywhere and it worked . If it wasnt for recruit princess . The recruit would have commit suicide and probably killed . What I find most impressive about the actress who played princess was the actress Kele , Her first language isnt english . But she managed to shine and do her best and was in 90 % of the movie . So huge respect to her
The Jokes in this film actually made me laugh . They did not try too hard and dint use the same recycled joke over and over again. The film actually made me laugh from start to finish .
Everything about the film was brilliant 10/10 . From the characters . Songs , storyline , jokes , etc everything was perfect and balanced . Very excited for part 2 coming in june.
