The psychopath is still on the loose. There's never been a flaming mongrel yet to get the better of Alf.

Warning: Spoilers
The opening scenes see Tom and Pippa listening to the first message from the Nutter, complete with Darth Vader voice.A couple of interesting plot threads come through here that are easy to miss on first viewing.

Oddly, this plot line is then dropped completely and the rest of the episode focuses on Steven's birthday. This is no bad thing, however, with all the Fletchers present for once.Sandra's ongoing family problems filter through, with Kerry losing viewer sympathy with her blinkered insistence on staying with Sam and then regaining it by going along with Pippa's idea to let Sandra go to the party.Carly emphasising with Sandra is a surprising but very believable moment.

The centrepiece of the episode is Steven telling Sandra about his parents' death.Adam Willits is given a lengthy monologue which would trouble most actors but doesn't drop the ball at all and makes the scene compelling.Even if it is blatant set-up for the ending.

But the presence of Lance proves it's not all doom and gloom. He has a nice double act with Bobby, especially in the scene where they discuss the Nutter. And Tom and Sally shutting down his attempts to make it to the party are very funny.
