The season starts out with an event that doesn't have anything to do with Walt, but here he comes anyway. It's a common thread with both series of Narcos: the central figure has to be a DEA agent, though those guys are boring, doltish and just consumed with self regard. There has to be, it seems, a DEA agent as the narrator, since the entire story is going to be the gospel according to la dea, or f not a narrator, then the hero of the story with his narrow interests the lens through which every other character has to be viewed.
I would really love to see Walt fired and having to make a living like those of us whose taxes pay his salary and the cost of providing him what he needs to make his mistakes. There hasn't been any mention of corrupt agents on the take, only corrupt Mexican cops and officials. That makes the story a fantasy, since corrupt federal agents are found out often.
