Kobayashi is building, little by little, at his own pace, great contemporary movies about real Japan. In some years, people will dedicate to him a deserved study, and will thank you him his showing to the rest of the world a REAL image of Japan. Thank you. I just recommend him to anyone interested in the Japanese quotidian life. The film locates somewhere in Tohoku, north Japan. The history of a boy who works in a convenience store, who has to steal to survive. All the society is against him. It should be noticed that Kobayashi has not built a singular history about him or "someone", is about all Japanese. The boy has problems that could have a solution, like in the rest of the civilized world, but the solutions don't appear because the country is coming back to under development of many things. The filming is slow, but beautiful. The mood is sad, but there is somewhere a strenght of which is made these people. Thank you again.
