solid ep.
flife-3832723 September 2021
Besides the v*rchie stuff, it was a solid episode. I enjoyed most of it. Few problems i have: us barchie shippers keep getting baited, this soon will turn around and bite the writers in the ass, veronica is pushing this relationship with archie WAY too fast, lastly, veronica needs help, she's starting to become betty... archie prob won't be there for betty at all next episode, even tho they are "best friends." i can say i lost all hope, and i'm "excited" for another musical episode that's going to get low ratings because we all hate them!

More of what we like for once
balance201223 September 2021
It's decent. It had intense moments and the energy of the episode moved along well. It felt more like a unique episode like how every ep of season 1 and 2 of most shows tend to be initially. It wasn't perfect and felt a little rushed. Let's not forget though, it's based on a comic book, so realism should not be expected.

Some closure

Warning: Spoilers
Well, some things are finally over, and it was quite good and entertaining. No real aliens, no nonsense. And, oh, Polly (I did not think they would do that). The Jughead-Betty team was good and I loved Fang and Toni. Also, the final scene was very well done.

Archie story itself was fine, but a lot of things make no sense. Mainly a) Nobody told Betty and Jughead that a mine fell over Archie and Eric. (!!!!) b) Chad acts like a complete idiot. If he suceeded in killing Veronica he would have been the main suspect. And, given than Archie knew he tried to kill him, he would have a lot of trouble. Especially if Archie still has the gun.

C) Veronica killing Chad without breaking a sweat, kidnapping and threatening to kill his dad, as if she was a sort of expert assassin.

Also, no idea what is happening with Cheryl storyline.

shockingly bad and unrealistic episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode felt like i was watching season 3 again, it was boring and repetitive. The varchie scenes were uncomfortable to watch as it feels so forced and one-sided as veronica is basically obsessed with archie at this point. Veronica just casually killing chad and then bragging about it was character assassination at its finest. The fact that neither jughead or betty found out about the mines was so stupid (jughead literally lives with archie and didn't notice him not being there??) don't even get me started on the cheryl storyline... is she a witch now because that wouldn't even be surprising at this point. I enjoyed the team up with toni, fangs, betty, tabitha and jughead though but i think it would've been better if it was in a different episode as it felt as though too much was happening at once and all the storylines were disconnected. Overall i think the episode made absolutely no sense and it was the same stuff we have been seeing the past 5 seasons with bughead investigating and varchie going against hiram we need something different for once. The only reason i am giving it 2 stars is because lili and mรคdchen were fantastic in the final scene and it was really heartbreaking seeing alice and betty find polly's body.

A VERY intense episode

Warning: Spoilers
Oh wow! I cannot believe that the writer of this episode could pack so much into one hour. Where can I even begin? The scheming, evil incarnate in human form Hiram Lodge, one of the most loathsome villians since JR Ewing and Loren Singer on JAG, triggers and explosion in the mine trapping Archie Andrews. This pushes Veronica to the brink of murder as she finally disowns her evil father telling him of all the pain he has caused her. In addition, Veronica also gets closer by getting to kill her scumbag husband Chad. If there was ever a case of justifiable homicide! HOWEVER SPOILER ALERT, all of this is but a frivilous comedy compared to the horror that poor Betty has to go through as well as her mother when at the very end they find Polly's body in the trunk of a junk car and share a moment of unbearable grief. This has got to be one of the saddest endings I have ever seen. I know it's only a tv show but it still gave me chills.

FINALLY some good Bughead content :')

This episode felt really like *Riverdale*, the Riverdale we have all missed and love - it was a breath of fresh air. I honestly now understand why Betty and Jughead haven't worked together all season - clearly, if they had, they would have figured out the mystery too soon LOL. The buildup was worth the wait. Even if they don't get back together just yet, this is a step in the right direction for them.

It was wonderful to see Veronica as the focus of the episode. She is the actual queen.

And seeing Veronica and Archie finally happy and back together was just the icing on the cake. You can really see how deeply these two characters love each other and would literally do anything for each other. Them getting their romantic reunion was wonderful. Adult Varchie are really slaying the game.

Plenty of good, plenty of terrifying, plenty of sad, plenty of fabulousness.

A gut wrenching episode all around.

You are gay, YOU are gay, EVERYBODY GAY!

You know, I wouldn't even make the effort writing a review for the episode being a lazy recycle, absolutely hollow nothingness at the throat of oblivion. Everybody should be able to see that.

Nothing is happening, while the same time everything feels rushed. There is no plot, or arcs, or characters. Everything is like a revolving door: this side is this, that side is that, no.transition.

And yes, Mr. Roberto decided he needs an overarching villain instead of the gang solving mysteries, and the problems with Riverdales, revealing its nasty secrets. Nah, a one-off cartoon-villain will serve better for minimal effortists.

But that Mr. Roberto plays JKRowling, and not even off-show, is now bothering even me. What percentage of the population of the Archieverse is LGBT+? 60%? 90%? 100%? 666%? Do I feel heterophobia can become a term because of this garbage?

And in case you'd say Hiram is not from a cartoon let me remind you he has a Big Red Button on his desk, which can blow up anything he want in town!

An emotional roller coaster!
alyssarebeccaxo-5326623 September 2021
Yes yes yes! Honestly I started to lose interest after the time jump happened, but this episode reminded me why I loved Riverdale so much to begin with. It was great to see Veronica in the spotlight for once & all of the other characters interacting again. For once I was finally on the edge of my seat again. I'd say this was one of the best episodes we've seen in awhile & I'm excited for next weeks episode!

Snooze Fest. Same Plot
autumnkeely23 September 2021
Too fast-paced with the same plot over and over again and they wonder why their ratings are so low. Veronica being annoying so much I preferred Hiram. Archie almost dies and his best friend's Jughead and Betty were not notified. Cheryl thinking she's some sort of saint. Sadly, this will be my last episode because the writers refuse to improve.

varchiexkins23 September 2021
This was one of the best episodes ever and very well written in s5, I loved veronica's storyline and her big performance and camila mendes acting was as always over the top, loved it so much โค. Also loved the bathtub scene for varchie, we waited so long for that and their intimate moments, varchie was just amazing this episode along with bughead, I missed their duo solving crimes together and also tabitha, toni, fangs, etc, were all really great this episode . #varchie #bughead #choni endgames forever. โคโคโค

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this part but it was not worth all the patience but I am glad that we finally got to a good part I hoped it would be more in the scene where Mathman attacked them. Veronica's reaction to killing Chad was very bad and I liked the role of Shirley in this episode, but it is not interesting that she thinks she is a witch. But I think the episode was very good, except for a few things I said.

Warning: Spoilers
Hiram is infinitely worse than Chad and yet Veronica shot him and was super gleeful about it (as she should be) but if it was that easy why the heck can't she just do the same to Hiram... glad he's finally getting treated like the clown he is but god, can we just get him off the show already? All that development in his flashback episode for him to go back to doing the same stuff. I'm sure Mark Consuelos could be doing better things right now. And let's not even get started on them not even disguising Kevin's absolute irrelevance this season or whatever is going on with Cheryl. Y'all-

Fan service writing 101...

Warning: Spoilers
Awful... Nothing happens in the episode, it's the same thing we've seen too much already. And when ยซ vilains ยป make plans that are so obviously bound to fail, you wonder why it was even brought up in the first place. It's lazy at best, but mostly insulting to viewers. Especially when Riverdale is at that point, where everything is set to make its characters look good in the most outrageous way. So what is there left to tell? Why not put the heroes at a really vulnerable state, and see how they overcome this, for once? Like say, have Veronica and Cheryl completely penniless, and unable to rely on their heritage, and parents connexions anymore?... Hopefully season six will end this downward spiral of everything bad TV...
