The Common Man Can Dream!
Hitchcoc19 August 2021
This is my favorite episode. There is no doubt, in my mind, that when comedy represents middle America, it is the best. The idea that we can eventually get a piece of the pie works great plot lines. Also, the separation between the haves and the have nots, also works well. We see several shows featured: "The Honeymooner," "Andy Griffith," "Frazier," "The Jeffersons," on and on. I never watched "Rosanne," but it appears she really captured that centrist group. "The Beverly Hillbillies" became the biggest show of its time. What was unique is that several of these shows were cancelled while riding the crest. Nice anthropology. Good examples.
