Unfathomably bad

Where to even start. Just search the reviews on Apple Podcasts and Reddit. This podcast glorifies a child killer who is obviously guilty. It's sick and immortal.

Don't waste your time.

This author spends so much time talking about "police tunnel vision" when in reality it seemed to me that she had journalistic tunnel vision! This entire podcast is so biased in favor of Chris Vaughn it is disgusting!

I had never heard of the Vaughn case and was expecting, actually wanting, to hear evidence of Chris Vaughn's innocence. Instead the author proved to me that he is guilty and is exactly where he should be - in prison for life! The only injustice was the way the author allowed Chris Vaughn's parent's to trash Kimberly's parents for an entire episode. Terrible! The Vaughn's opinion of Kimberly's family is completely irrelevant to the case. The author downplays ALL of the evidence against Chris and provides way too much significance into theories provided by experts PAID for by Chris's defense team. This happens over and over again throughout the podcast! She seems to blame everyone - the investigators, the judge, the DA , jurors, prison guards, and most pathetic of all, the victim Kimberly and her family!

The author is only concerned with one thing . . . Getting her name in the big media outlets. The court of law is where the real evidence lies. Guilty as charged.

Absolutely Astounding Job with this Podcast!!

Warning: Spoilers
Until mid 2021, I had never heard of the 2007 Vaughn family murder and honestly I was 5-6 years old at the time of the events. When I first listened to this podcast, I was absolutely hooked and then I proceeded to conduct my own investigations into the evidence and digging into the truth of what really happened on this fateful day. After reading article after article and looking at multiple sources of evidence surrounding this case. I was deeply confused and disappointed by the prosecutions defense. Their story did not explain the scene or events, just merely described. Described to appeal to the pathos of every single juror in that courtroom. There were multiple lies told by the prosecution under oath in that court and it was bewildering. The Jury was not given anything but evidence to affect their emotion. Tunnel vision, two words repeated in this podcast multiple times, truly describes the outcome of this trial. No ethics were considered in this case unless it was from the prosecution and even then those people, who are considered experts, did nothing but hide the truth from the Jurors and stir up their emotions. Key evidence provided by the defense that proves Vaughns innocence was disallowed to be given to the Jury per the Judge during this trial. I believed wholeheartedly that because evidence regarding Kimberly's mental instability, medications, and previous behavior was disallowed to be present to the jury per the judge than so should any of the evidence regarding Christopher, before the crimes, that were used against his character should have been also been disallowed by the judge as well. It is safe and accurate to assume that the Judge of this trial was in fact bias and had no intentions of allowing Vaughn to be found innocent despite that not being their job. The state of Illinois did everything in their power to not provide Vaughn with a proper defense. This is a wrongful conviction.

Every single negative review that I have read on this podcast shows nothing but mere emotion spilling from their words. Anyone who has listened to this podcast, considered all the evidence, listened to all the theories/scenarios, understands the meaning of tunnel vision should have came to the conclusion that Christopher Vaughn is an innocent man and the Judge and prosecution were all victims of tunnel vision and confirmation bias. Putting all emotions aside, it has been clear that every single piece of evidence that is directly related to the crime in question points to Murder Suicide conducted by Kimberly Vaughn. And i think that this is the hardest pill to swallow for everyone involved. Nobody wants to believe a mother would do something like this, but truth of the matter is things like this happen all the time all around the world... and it's heartbreaking.

I would like to thank everyone who put this podcast together perfectly, those who were willing to relive these events in their heads to bring us the truth. Those who fought for many years to prove Christopher Vaughns innocence. I am faithful that the truth and persistence of these individuals will set him free. You all are amazing people and it shows. Thank you everyone.

Horrible

Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to know where to begin. This true crime podcast is an attempt to exonerate a convicted killer. The podcaster makes many promises of evidence to come, but she never makes good on these promises. 9/12 episodes have been published so far and the evidence consists of Chris Vaughn having "innocent eyes," Chris Vaughn confessing to having faked amnesia the entire time, and his mother victim blaming the murder victim and her family. It's the most perplexing thing I've ever witnessed and I'm beginning to wonder if it's a social experiment.

Bias Garbage
ethics-4706519 April 2022
So many questionable bias facts. Incredible how after 14 years this sociopath has an epiphany that happens to fit theories openly presented publicly. The family of a victim/s is once again dragged through the mud and victimized by complete amateurs.

The so called crime scene expert is a hack that was never law enforcement and works for a backwards town in Kentucky. Is it coincidence how her reconstruction fit the podcasts theory.

The reporter, who is a small town nobody who currently works for a gossip publication called the Patch.

The new attorney who claims a dozen exonerations, where? By the way who has been nicknamed "Joliet Jed" for a reason. Read the appeal!

Not journalism
mysusanspace14 October 2021
This "documentary" reveals the opinion of the narrator "journalist." She is biased against the murdered mother and her family, and in favor of Chris Vaughn. The "documentary" (for anyone daring to call in that) feels like someone trying to become famous by faking a different belief. Like news sources, documentaries are supposed to be fact-based reliant on documented evidence, hence the genre "DOCUMENTary." Phil McGraw took up the cause on his show and interviews Vaughn's family and some unknown man who claims Vaughn is innocent without a shred of real evidence. It's all speculative. With a case as old and unfamiliar as this one, Dr. Phil show needs material.
