Here's some news we don't love for you.
Showtime has swung the axe on Vanessa Bayer's I Love That For You.
The comedy has been canceled after just one season on the premium cabler.
"I Love That for You has completed its run on Showtime," the network said.
"We want to thank Vanessa, Jeremy and Jessi, along with the incredible cast and crew for their hard work and wish them the best going forward."
Inspired by Bayer's own story of overcoming childhood leukemia, the comedy centered on Joanna Gold (Bayer), who dreamed of becoming a host at a home-shopping channel.
Molly Shannon starred as Jackie, the charismatic star of the network and Joanna's idol.
Jenifer Lewis played Patricia, the network's icy, enigmatic founder and CEO.
Additional series regulars included Paul James, Ayden Mayeri, Matt Rogers, and Punam Patel.

Showtime has made a decision on its last remaining current scripted series whose fate had been up in the air, opting not to pick up a second season of comedy I Love That for You. The news comes a year after the Season 1 run of the show starring Vanessa Bayer, who co-created it with Jeremy Beiler. The two serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Jessi Klein and Michael Showalter.
“I Love That for You has completed its run on Showtime,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement. “We want to thank Vanessa, Jeremy and Jessi, along with the incredible cast and crew for their hard work and wish them the best going forward.”
As Deadline reported, there had been an internal effort to get the well-received series renewed. I Love That for You co-star Matt Rogers claimed in December that a second season of the show already had been written.

Lionsgate debuted an explosive trailer for its new thriller Confidential Informant on Tuesday, bringing Mel Gibson, Dominic Purcell, and more to screens for a film about corruption, cover-ups, and the fallout from times at war. Dominic Purcell, Nick Stahl (Let The Right One In), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), and Mel Gibson (Boss Level, Lethal Weapon) star in the Confidential Informant trailer, which explodes with deceit, plans going up in smoke, and the disenfranchised turning to a life of crime.
Confidential Informant finds Kevin Hickey (Mel Gibson) telling the tale of two narcotics agents hunting for a cop killer during a crack epidemic. Hoping for leads, Moran (Dominic Purcell) and Thorton (Nick Stahl) pay off a junkie informant. Moran involves the stool pigeon in a deadly scheme to provide for his wife (Kate Bosworth) and son. This arrangement causes the partners to come under the scrutiny of a suspicious internal affairs agent,...

Violet McGraw, whose surprise horror hit M3gan became a viral sensation, has signed to headline the cast for A Wonderful Way with Dragons, written, directed, and produced by Delfine Paolini.
The film will begin production this summer in Upstate NY. It marks Paolini’s feature film directorial debut.
‘Dragons’ follows a group of six children and a sinister, possibly imaginary, friend, abandoned on an enigmatic island after a pandemic has swept the world. Their struggle to survive becomes paled by individual desires for each other and for power.
Joining McGraw are Miguel Angel Garcia, star of The Long Game; Taylor Geare from the film Inception; Donnie Masihi of the TV series This Is Us; Ian Foreman, star of the TV series Let the Right One In; and Theodore Dalton, a fashion model turned actor most recently seen in a nationwide Ralph Lauren ad campaign.

Kohn’s Corner is a weekly column about the challenges and opportunities of sustaining American film culture.
Every year around this time, I relish the opportunity to vanish into a bubble of Cannes hype and pretend that world-class auteurs dominate the movie business on a global scale. Exclusive: Buchwald has upped veteran talent agents Angelo Padilla and Marion Campbell Kammer to Senior Vice President of Talent and Vice President of Talent, respectively. Both are based in the agency’s Los Angeles office.
Padilla has been a rising star at the agency, where he started as an agent in 2011. Padilla began his agency career at ICM where he trained under agent Toni Howard before being promoted in 2007 in the Motion Picture Talent Department. He also had a stint at Greene & Associates Talent Agency before joining Buchwald. Padilla began his career in casting at Cfb Casting.
Padilla has built a roster of clients that includes Essence Atkins (Untitled Wayans, Marlon), Rachel Blanchard (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Neil Brown Jr., Jake Cannavale (The Offer), David Castañeda, Matt Cedeño, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Kimberly Hebert Gregory (Vice Principals), Tim Jo (Reasonable Doubt), Marvin Jones, Richard T. Jones, Poppy Liu, Louis Ozawa, Dar Salim (The Covenant), and Amanda Warren (East New York).
Kammer joined Buchwald at the top of 2021 after a 16-year run at TalentWorks, where she served as VP of Talent. Kammer began her agency career at Coast to Coast Talent Group followed by Gersh, and then eventually joined TalentWorks as an agent in 2005, two years after its launch.
Kammer’s client list includes Fernanda Andrade, Ray Cham (Sort Of, The Big Leap), Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), Matthew Del Negro, Simone Joy Jones (Bel-Air), Parveen Kaur (Manifest), Jason Lee, Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), Ravi Patel, Tamara Podemski, Judy Reyes as well as Ted Field and his Radar Pictures.
“Angelo and Marion exemplify many of the qualities we value at Buchwald. Their promotions are a direct reflection of their consistent and ongoing commitment to hard work, collaboration, and leadership. One of the most exciting and gratifying components of our continued evolution is getting to acknowledge those who make an extraordinary contribution to our growth and success. In elevating them, we elevate the company,” said Julia Buchwald and Ryan Martin in a joint statement.
Buchwald recently upped Rob Kim to its management team as co-head of the agency’s west coast office, where he serves in this position alongside Ryan Martin and Julia Buchwald, who also serves as the agency’s president.

The technology of cinematography has undergone some of the most seismic shifts in film history this century, with what began in the 2000s as an almost entirely photochemical process transforming into the digitally captured, manipulated, and projected images of today. The art of cinematography, however — using light, color, and texture to express ideas and elicit emotional reactions from the audience — remains intact.
In 2017, IndieWire made a list of the best shot feature films of the century thus far; the list was updated in 2020, and what follows is the third and most extensive version of the list. It’s also the first to be spearheaded by the IndieWire Craft team, which has grown considerably since this list was first published. Ranking cinematography is, in some ways, a fool’s errand given the broad variety of genres, resources, and intentions encompassed by the films below, but these are 60 titles that IndieWire believes...

Being a part of a fandom can be an incredibly affirming experience. Sure, some of our friends and loved ones might not understand why we feel compelled to wear full cosplay and jam ourselves into overpopulated convention centers, but for those that understand our pop culture obsessions, an immediate familial bond can be forged by the power of wearing a matching T-shirt. Fans express their appreciation in countless ways, with some of the more die-hard folks willing to name their children after their favorite characters, or permanently alter their bodies by getting tattoos.
I'll admit that I'm one of those people, as all three of my tattoos are references to movies I love. Getting a fandom tattoo is a risky decision because while something might feel good at the moment, there's always the chance the creator of your favorite property might turn into the world's loudest mouthpiece for transphobia, and...

A major director had scheduled a quick lunch just before leaving for an out-of-town shoot, but when he bit down on something hard and cracked a back tooth, his plans were suddenly in limbo. He raced to the Brentwood office of Dr. Jon Marashi, explaining the urgency.
The aesthetic dentist skipped the usual goopy impressions and instead captured details of the director’s bite with a 3D scanner in less than a minute. The digital file was immediately input into a 3D printer, which created a replica of the broken tooth. Using a Computer Aided Design (Cad) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (Cam) dental milling machine, a new porcelain crown was quickly fabricated, verified on the printed model, and within hours bonded onto the patient’s damaged tooth.
“The industry standard turnaround for a crown has always been two weeks, but this entire process was three and a half hours,” notes Marashi,...

Ziwe Fumudoh’s list of iconic guests has run short. The comedian’s Showtime talk show “Ziwe” has been canceled at the premium cable network after two seasons, IndieWire has confirmed.
In addition, the channel has given a six-episode season order to “Seasoned,” a new comedy show starring real-life married couple Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody; co-created and co-written by their son Gideon Grody-Patinkin and Ewen Wright, the show is directly inspired by the pair’s real-life relationship. The channel also passed on the pilot for “The Wood,” a comedy series based on the 1999 film from Rick Famuyiwa. Finally, Showtime acquired “Heist 88,” a crime thriller film starring Courtney B. The Chris McCarthy era at Showtime has claimed another victim.
The premium cable network, which was added to the Paramount Global exec’s purview last year, has canceled late night talk show Ziwe after two seasons. Additionally, Showtime has made decisions on two of its three comedy pilots, handing out a series order to Mandy Patinkin family comedy Seasoned while passing on The Wood. What’s more, the original movie Heist 88 starring Courtney B. Vance, has moved from Paramount+ to Showtime.
The changes come as McCarthy has identified three different programming groups for his vision of Showtime, which is being rebranded as Paramount+ With Showtime in a bid to better align the streamer and linear network: franchises, diverse cultures and antiheroes.
As part of McCarthy’s Showtime review, the exec who also oversees linear networks Paramount, MTV, Comedy Central and more has integrated the cabler’s exec team with...

Exclusive: The ongoing changes at Showtime have reached the network’s development slate which has been cut down significantly, with a slew of projects getting a pass, I hear.
There had been a programming slate reevaluation since Chris McCarthy added Showtime to his purview following the exit of longtime CEO David Nevins in October. The process accelerated last month when, following the January announcement that the premium cable network will be integrated into Paramount+ on digital and renamed as Paramount+ with Showtime on linear, it was revealed that Showtime will merge with MTV Entertainment Studios.
McCarthy at the time set new programming leadership for the network, with Nina L. Diaz expanding her role as Chief Creative Officer and President of Content of the combined operation, and Keith Cox named President of Scripted, reporting to her alongside incumbent Showtime EVP Scripted Amy Israel.

At the end of January, it was announced that Showtime would be rebranded as "Paramount+ with Showtime" on both linear and streaming platforms. The channel hasn't renewed any shows since that was announced, but several have been cancelled. Fortunately for Yellowjackets viewers, that show was given an early third-season renewal in December. Could season three be the end of this tale? Stay tuned.

‘The L-Word: Generation Q’ Canceled After 3 Seasons, Possible Reboot of Original Series in the Works
Showtime has canceled “The L-Word: Generation Q,” TheWrap has confirmed.
The series, a sequel to Showtime’s 2004-2009 series “The L-Word,” premiered in 2019 and wrapped up its third season in January. The network hasn’t commented publicly on the cancelation, but an individual with knowledge of the matter tells TheWrap that Showtime is in early development on a possible reboot of the original series, which has a working title of “The L-Word: New York.”
“Generation Q” followed the intermingled lives of Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), Alice Pieszecki, Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig), Dani Núñez (Arienne Mandi), Micah Lee (Leo Sheng), Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas), Gigi Ghorbani (Sepideh Moafi), Angie Porter-Kennard (Jordan Hull) and Tess (Clayton) as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in Los Angeles.
As Showtime places its future on established franchises, the cable channel is going back to a classic of high school science classes. A series adaptation of 1997 film “Gattaca” is in development at the channel.
Although details on the series are being kept under wraps, the show will reportedly hail from Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, who are best known for creating the 2011 drama “Homeland” for Showtime. Gansa is attached to co-create the series with “Dallas Buyers Club” screenwriter and Oscar nominee Craig Borten, and will showrun the series. All three executive produce the series, which comes from Sony Pictures Television.

ITV’s profits slid by more than 12% last year reflecting “planned investment in content and Itvx,” according to the network.
Unveiling its full-year 2022 results in the past few minutes, the Love Island and Nolly commercial broadcaster showed a revenue boost of 7% to £4.3B ($5.2B) but adjusted Ebitda for the group slid by 12% to £723M ($865M). The slide was a reversal of the previous year, when a post-Covid uplift saw profits shoot upwards by an impressive 42%. In 2022, group adjusted Ebitda margin fell from 24% to 19% and pre-tax profit rose from £480M to £501M.
Total advertising revenue virtually flatlined to stay around the £1.9B mark, reflecting difficulties in the market, although digital advertising revenue rose by 17% to £343M in line with ITV’s expectations.

Showtime co-presidents Gary Levine and Jana Winograde are exiting their current posts amid a continuing shakeup at the pay TV channel, with Levine shifting to an advisory role and Winograde leaving Paramount Global entirely.
The move, announced by president and CEO of Showtime and Paramount Media Networks Chris McCarthy in a memo to staff Monday, comes following the Jan. 30 news that both Showtime’s linear and streaming platforms will be integrated into Paramount+ and rebranded as “Paramount+ With Showtime.”
“With the integration of Showtime across the company, many of the current functions that Jana oversees including business affairs, production, operations and casting are being centralized and therefore, Jana will be leaving,” McCarthy wrote of Winograde, a six-year vet of the network.
McCarthy states that “Gary approached me because after more than 22 years of overseeing all of the original programming at Showtime, he was ready to use his formidable creative skills in a more focused way,...

Uncoupled has found a new home following its cancellation on Netflix.
Deadline reported Friday that the Neil Patrick Harris comedy had scored a surprise pickup at Showtime.
The news comes amid a strategic shift at the premium cabler, which recently announced plans to become Paramount+ with Showtime.
As a result, much of the network's content is set to change.
Showtime canceled American Gigolo, Let the Right One In, and the new drama Three Women (despite never airing a single episode).
Several ended shows were also purged in the process, with shows like Kidding removed entirely.
It's unclear whether the purged shows will return somewhere else down the line.
Showtime also recently announced plans to expand the Dexter and Billions franchises.
As many as four spinoffs of the latter are in the works -- including Millions and Trillions.

Showtime’s highly anticipated drama “Ripley,” starring Andrew Scott (“Fleabag”), is finalizing a move to Netflix, TheWrap has learned. The nearly closed deal follows the reveal that another original from the premium network-streamer, the Shailene Woodley-starring “Three Women,” is being eyed at Starz.
“Ripley,” which was given an eight-episode series order back in September 2019, is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling series of novels. The first of the quintet, published in 1955, was adapted into the Anthony Minghella-helmed 1999 film “The Talented Mr. Ripley” starring Matt Damon and Jude Law.

A long-gestating Showtime series based on Patricia Highsmith’s Tom Ripley novels will no longer air on Showtime.
The drama, titled Ripley and starring Andrew Scott as the title character, is instead set to land at Netflix, pending details of a deal being finalized. The change comes as Showtime is set to merge with Paramount+ and will refocus on building out franchises of its most successful series, including Billions and Dexter.
Reps for Showtime and Netflix declined to comment.
Showtime gave Ripley a series order in 2019, with Oscar winner Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List, HBO’s The Night Of) writing and directing all eight episodes. Three years ago, an adaptation of Lisa Taddeo’s novel Three Women ignited a bidding war before landing at Showtime with what sources say at the time was one of the biggest deals the premium cable network had ever made. Today, the drama starring Shailene Woodley that was eyed for a 2022 debut jumped to rival network Starz as Showtime — now part of Chris McCarthy’s sprawling purview at Paramount Global — pivots toward the Yellowstone franchise model that has driven viewers to Paramount+.
In a Jan. 30 memo to staff outlining a rebranding of the pay cable network to “Paramount+ With Showtime,” McCarthy (who oversees Paramount Network, MTV and Comedy Central, among others) pointed to “turning our hit shows into global hit franchises” and integrating the brand’s content into the premium tier of Paramount+ With Showtime. Days after Showtime cut bait on the already completed series “Three Women” starring Shailene Woodley, Starz has swooped in to acquire and rescue the show, as first reported in THR. However, an individual with knowledge told IndieWire that negotiations for the rights to the show were still underway.
THR also reported that “Three Women,” which is based on the book by Lisa Taddeo, was also shopped to HBO and Amazon before it landed at Starz.
Starz had no comment.
Though it’s already finished principal production, Showtime followed a trend that began with “Batgirl,” in which streamers and networks cut their losses and take tax write-offs for already completed or in-the-works projects. Should a deal close, “Three Women” would add to Starz’s previously rescuing the upcoming second season of “Minx,” which first premiered on HBO last year. That show was produced by Starz’s parent company, Lionsgate TV.

The series adaptation of the novel “Three Women” is nearing a revival at Starz, Variety has confirmed with sources. The series was previously set up at Showtime but that network scrapped the show despite having shot the entire first season. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, negotiations are currently underway.
Starz declined to comment.
Based on Lisa Taddeo’s novel of the same name, Shailene Woodley stars in the series along with DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin, Gabrielle Creevy, Blair Underwood, and John Patrick Amedori.
The official logline for the show states it is about “three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. There is Sloane (Wise), a glamorous entrepreneur in a committed open marriage until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story, and Maggie, a North Dakota student who weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship.

When Showtime becomes Paramount+ With Showtime, the service will hone in on some of its established franchises.
Showtime boss Chris McCarthy spoke to The Wall Street Journal about the future, and there are some big swings.
For one, the Billions franchise is becoming a universe with spinoffs titled Millions and Trillions.
That's the working title for those shows, and unless Showtime wants to cause some confusion, they will probably change it if the shows reach the production stage.
There are -- reportedly -- four spinoffs in the works for Billions. If most of those shows make it on the air, they will effectively become the Power universe of Showtime.
Starz has had plenty of success by expanding the Power universe, but it's a bit hard to believe that Billions could reach the same success.
The good news is that Billions co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien are on board to bring this universe to life.

Spinoffs of “Billions” and “Dexter” are being planned at Showtime as the premium cabler rebrands to Paramount+ With Showtime and reconfigures its programming.
“Dexter,” which ran from 2006 to 2013 and followed forensic technician and serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), is first on the docket for expansion. Showtime has already greenlit “Dexter: Origins” (working title), a prequel following a young Dexter at the outset of his transition into the avenging serial killer he would become. Showtime, er, Paramount+ with Showtime, is facing a major overhaul. The Paramount Global-owned premium-cable channel is shifting its focus to franchises, which is in turn bringing about some very questionable names beyond just the platform itself. Among the plans is to turn “Billions” into a universe with spinoffs working-titled — wait for it — “Millions” and “Trillions.”
Much like the new name for Showtime itself, we feel obligated to point out that this is not a joke. The Wall Street Journal, via an interview with Showtime boss Chris McCarthy, first reported the plans for the new Showtime. A spokesperson for McCarthy confirmed the news of all the series ordered and planned, which also includes another “Billions” spinoff set in Miami (and possibly even a fourth “Billions” spinoff) and a “Dexter” prequel series, for IndieWire.
The South Florida-set “Billions” spinoff sounds like it will have a crypto-currency angle. Another potential series in the franchise has a London setting.

Over the past few months, we’ve seen an increasing number of streaming companies remove original content from their services. Deadline reports that Paramount+ is the latest service to remove titles from their platform, which includes Jordan Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone.
In addition to The Twilight Zone, Paramount+ has also removed Peter Sarsgaard’s Interrogation, Michael Chiklis’ Coyote, comedy series No Activity, Kate Beckinsale’s Guilty Party, animated series The Harper House, and reality series The Real World: Homecoming.

It’s becoming increasingly – and concerningly – common for streaming services to pull original content for tax write down purposes, and in the wake of the brand new “Let the Right One In” series being taken off Showtime, Deadline reports that the Jordan Peele-hosted CBS reboot of “The Twilight Zone” has now been removed from its streaming service, Paramount+.
The “Twilight Zone” reboot originally aired on CBS All Access, which eventually became Paramount+. The show ran for just two seasons, premiering in 2019 and ending in 2020.
The good news? Both seasons of the Peele-hosted “The Twilight Zone” have been released onto DVD, so fans wanting to check out the series will continue to be able to do so.
As for Rod Serling’s original “Twilight Zone” series, that is still streaming on Paramount+.

Paramount+ has followed other streamers like HBO Max in removing some of its original programming off the platform, including the likes of Jordan Peele’s “The Twilight Zone” reboot and “The Real World: Homecoming New York.” The news comes two days after Paramount announced that Showtime would be undergoing a rebrand and merging with Paramount+’s premium service later this year.
Other titles no longer showing up on the platform include “Coyote,” “No Activity,” “Guilty Party” and “The Harper House.” “The Twilight Zone,” which was canceled after two seasons, was a project from the now-defunct CBS All Access (later rebranded to Paramount+). The removal of “Homecoming,” a spinoff to the reality series “The Real World” that aired for three decades on MTV, is more unclear given that the series had yet to receive a formal cancellation.

Days after Showtime, which is currently merging with Paramount+, pulled multiple titles from their platform, the streaming service has followed suit.
Jordan Peelee’s “The Twilight Zone,” which aired for two seasons between 2019 and 2020 before being canceled, has been removed, along with all three seasons of “The Real World: Homecoming.” Other projects no longer available include “Coyote,” “No Activity,” “Guilty Party” and “The Harper House.”
“The Real World: Homecoming,” which launched in 2021 with the New York cast, returned for two more seasons, reuniting the casts of Los Angeles and New Orleans. The Bunim/Murray Productions and MTV Entertainment Studios produced project was well-received by critics and no cancelation announcement has been made.
On Jan. 30, Showtime removed multiple titles, including “American Gigolo” and “Let the Right One In,” both of which were not renewed for a second season, both seasons of Jim Carrey’s “Kidding,” and solo seasons of “American Rust,...

Yesterday in a memo to employees, Showtime and Paramount Media Networks President and CEO Chris McCarthy said the newly-merging brands will "divert investment away from areas that are underperforming and that account for less than 10 of our views." In a move that is disappointing but not surprising, it turns out the company's cost-cutting measures involve not just canceling shows but also purging them entirely from streaming. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a number of TV series have already been pulled from the Showtime streaming platform, which is set to be renamed Paramount+ with Showtime.
Among the shows that have reportedly disappeared are the unique and imaginative Jim Carrey project "Kidding" and the Kirsten Dunst-led dark comedy "On Becoming A God in Central Florida," both of which were critically acclaimed. The Jon Bernthal-led "American Gigolo" reimagining and a recent reboot of "Let the Right One In" were both cancelled just yesterday,...

We learned last night that Showtime has decided not to order a second season of the “Let the Right One In” series that debuted last year, this news coming along with the reveal that Showtime will be folded into the Paramount+ streaming service beginning later this year. On top of that, we’ve now learned that the series has been removed from Showtime entirely.
THR reports today that “Let the Right One In” is one of several shows that have been removed from the Showtime streaming service ahead of the upcoming fusion with Paramount+.
THR details, “The list includes American Gigolo and Let the Right One In — both of which were canceled earlier Monday — as well as Jim Carrey vehicle Kidding, the first season of anthology Super Pumped, On Becoming a God in Central Florida and American Rust. Also vanishing from the Showtime streaming platform are seasons of acquired content including The End and Wakefield.

Showtime viewers have complained after a number of series were reportedly pulled from the US network’s streaming platform.
On Monday (30 January), it was also announced that Showtime was being integrated into Paramount’s main brand, and will be known going forward as Paramount+ With Showtime.
Among the original series to have been removed from the streaming service, per The Hollywood Reporter, are crime series American Gigolo, vampire drama Let the Right one In, and Kidding, starring Jim Carrey.
On Becoming a God in Central Florida and American Rust were also taken down from Showtime’s catalogue.
Showtime has seemingly become the latest platform to take advantage of the tax write-downs available for shows that have been removed from their catalogue.
Companies such as HBO Max have faced criticism from fans and creators for removing underperforming films and TV shows from their streaming catalogues, in order to maximise tax benefits.

The purge of some of Showtime’s less popular series from the network’s streaming service has gotten underway. According to sources, the majority of the shows impacted lasted one season. As Deadline revealed exclusively earlier today, that includes Let The Right One In and American Gigolo, which have been canceled. Additionally, in the process of being taken off are American Rust, Wakefield, and On Becoming a God In Central Florida, which also ran for one season each, as well as the Jim Carrey starrer Kidding, which produced two seasons, sources said.
The removals are part of Showtime’s integration into Paramount+, announced earlier today, which includes the linear network being renamed Paramount+ with Showtime later this year. As part of the changes, the company will “divert investment away from areas that are underperforming” and that accounts for “less than 10 of our views,” Chris McCarthy, who oversees Showtime, said in his memo.

Showtime has pulled several series from its streaming platform, becoming the latest banner to parse down its digital library in the past year. Sources close to the situation share that most removed titles will have the opportunity to sell to third-parties.
Among the removals are “American Gigolo” and “Let the Right One In,” both of which were not renewed for a second season, as announced by Showtime just earlier Monday afternoon. Both seasons of the Jim Carrey-starring “Kidding” are also no longer available to watch on the platform, as well as the single-season series “American Rust” and “On Becoming a God in Central Florida.”
The first season of “Super Pumped” has also been removed. The business anthology series had been renewed in Feb. 2022, with plans for a second season to focus on the history of Facebook. However, few updates have emerged on the project in the months since.

It was revealed last year that Paramount was considering merging Showtime with Paramount+, and now it’s official. Showtime will be integrated into Paramount+ across linear and streaming platforms, rebranding the channel to Paramount+ With Showtime. This move has already resulted in the cancellation of several series, including Let the Right One In, American Gigolo, and Three Women.
The rebranding will launch later this year, with the move aiming to bring Showtime and Paramount+ together in the streaming world. This will only affect the premium tier of Paramount+ and the Showtime linear network in the U.S. “This new combined offering demonstrates how we can leverage our entire collection of content to drive deeper connections with consumers and greater value for our distribution partners,” Paramount CEO Bob Bakish said in staff memo. “This change will also drive stronger alignment across our domestic and international Paramount+ offerings, as international Paramount+ already includes Showtime content.
