A Solid Penultimate Episode
ahmadz83921 December 2022
"Moscow Rules" is a solid penultimate episode that demonstrates the show's ability to deliver an enjoyable viewing experience despite its limitations. While this season may not be revolutionary, it has played its hand well, delivering engaging action sequences and high production values that make up for any shortcomings in the writing.

Like the show "Reacher," "Jack Ryan" knows its strengths and works within them, delivering an entertaining, action-packed product. The writing may not always be top-notch, but as an action show, it more than makes up for it with its thrilling set pieces and well-choreographed fight scenes.

Even if it may not be pushing any boundaries, it is a reliable source of entertainment that is sure to please fans of the genre.

Rating: 7.6/10 (Impressive)

Warning: Spoilers
This one was good.. lots of things going on.. minister of defense power hungry and giving orders to launch missiles from a cruiser.. I dunno why he would do that before deposing the president.. but more importantly, how would he do that? But anyway, that is just me the clueless dude that got confused everytime they showed those flashbacks and I did not know who was who there..

I still do not get it.. that explosion near that town made Russia initiate attack protocols?

And the USA is looking to change their minds by exposing Petrov, the new minister of defense?

I guess that is it, aint it.. the endgame and making Americans and Russians attack each other.

In the Service of Mother Russia
lavatch25 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
While the major issues of the Sokol warhead were resolved in the previous episode, the screenwriters now pivot to a new threat: the plan all along was for Antonov, a rogue Russian naval officer in the Baltic to start a war from a powerful destroyer. This act will be tied to a coup that will enable Defense Minister Alexei Petrov to depose the hapless Russian president in a carefully orchestrated coup d'état.

The widow, Madam Popop, is informed of Petrov's scheme in a private conversation with Alena Kovac. The grande dame will try to exert her influence on the president. In the meantime, Jack has been in contact with Elizabeth Wright, who has attempted to persuade the President of the United States of the diabolical scheme. Jim Greer has been nosing around and has found important intel as well among Antonov's papers.

The stage is now set for a mad dash to the Baltic as Jack and Luka will attempt to thwart the Baltic cruiser from carrying out its mission. For the world-weary Luka, the realization is clear that this may be a suicide mission. But he must sacrifice everything for the cause of Mother Russia!

Episode 307

Warning: Spoilers
We have just one episode left this season and we got nada here. I was just writing a great review for Episode 306, but the follow up left a lot to be desired.

A very poorly cast actor to play the President and too much nonsensical bureaucracy. I am not going to believe that the current President, given the last two we have had, is going to seriously weigh the options in a scenario like this.

There could be some twists and turns still ahead in the final episode up next, but somehow I doubt it. I kind of get now why they dropped this new season in the holiday season because it has been a huge letdown.

Started strong, one small issue...
ASBKnight27 December 2022
One of the reasons this show felt very meh was the typical story: bad middle eastern men... good military / CIA guys.

Then it became a bit interesting with scenes like recovering the wife.

Now it's back to mediocre garbage with the bad guys always escaping, while it makes no sense, because they can tell the future. The intel was not just solid, was perfect. This kind of BS shows a lazy idiot writer. I get that not all episodes are winners, but this kind of crap is not ok.

I really hope they don't continue with this generic meh villain. It's booring to watch, sympathise .... anything.

John is the only reason why this show is watchable. Wendell seems intersting at first, then it's generic af.

Nobody mentioned the obvious Easter Egg!

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler

Near the end of the episode Luka asks Jack a question:

"What would you do?"

The statement was: "You're not going to get on a ship with a bunch of Russian Terrorists that is suicide."

Jack (does just that) in the Hunt for Red October he {alec baldwin} gets on the Nuclear Submarine being Captained by Marko Ramius, portrayed by the late Great Sir Sean Connery, a distinguished Russian Captain who was going to Defect to the United States with his classified nuclear submarine. If you haven't seen that film you definitely should.

As for the episode; obviously it being the culmination of the season it was a great episode.
