great episode - please pick rahim
abiye-3402717 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Hi. This is just me venting about why i hope victor chooses rahim. Sorry in advance for the typos.

I am operating under the assumption that most of this show's fans are quite young, so they don't understand that sometimes relationships just... end. Like, yeah victor and benji were nice together, but like most high school relationships, it probably was never gonna last. Same thing with felix and lake (very glad he chose pilar btw). Of course, i'm not saying their love wasn't a beautiful thing, but their differences are just too big to ignore. Namely, the fact that benji will never really understand what it's like for victor, a man of color and religious background, to come out to his parents. That's a struggle that rahim can actually identify with.

Seeing benji in episode 8 just brush that off really upset me because, as a man of color and religious background myself, i understand how difficult it must be for victor to judge his family (especially his mother) for their reaction. And i don't want to say that having that shared experience makes victor and rahim more compatible, but it does make them more... alike. Obviously i can't really blame benji either, he didn't choose to be white, but the lack of empathy or even an attempt at understanding victor's struggles, once again, upset me.

But, more than that, I liked watching victor and rahim's conversations! Conversations we see way too little of on tv. The way they speak about masculinity, race, friendship, acceptance... in the two episodes they spent together victor and rahim touched me in a way that victor and benji hadn't in nearly two seasons. There, i said it. And i know this might get some people unnecessarily angry, but romantic relationships between two men of color on tv are practically unheard of. Like, i seriously couldn't name another if i tried. And this is the perfect opportunity to change that.

For a show that champions representation and diversity, reducing rahim down to a conflict tool for victor and benji would be beyond lousy, and i hope they make the right choice and let him end up with victor. That's all i got. If you read all this... thanks. If you disagree, small reminder that there are ways to express that without being mean. Have a nice day :)

Great episode,

Except for the cliche ending, but otherwise!!! God I hope he picks Rahim tho. Last season I was sooooo invested in Victor and Benji, but honestly this season I kinda think Benji was lowkey toxic. The love between them is there obviously, but when you have two seperate fights along with apologies each episode, something is not working out lmao.

I don't like Victor as a person
entej27 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
He doesn't seem like a nice person. He was dumping all his problems on Simon and using him as a free shrink. Then he just dumps him like that when he calls? So rude I swear. He never asked him how he is doing, if everything is OK in his life. He just kept dumping on him details about his life. Even during that last phone he didn't ask if he is doing well aand maybe he wants to talk. But hey it's okay now he has other people to talk to, why bother. Very selfish typical Gen Z. To only talk about themselves and not give any fs about other people.

They really got me there

Warning: Spoilers
I was so angry when they made Felix choose Pilar over Lake (I still am tbqh) and I've been saying all season that Lucy is totally a lesbian so yes I absolutely love that Lucy and Lake are flirting but LAKE AND FELIX UGH why am I choosing the straight couple over the lesbians? This so what this show has reduced me to.

Omg I'm completely paralyzed with this end.

This season was HOT in so many ways, I mean...

SPOILER ALERT!

This show, the drama, the conflicts, all those themes. Although the jocks part was too-non-realistic, the all season was fantastic and their roles were outstandingly played-

Please pick up. Benji !! Rahim is nice and lovely person, but no your true love. Oh gosh and Felix choice was so wrong :(

All I gotta say is I LOVED this season way more than season 1! Also, #TeamRahim! I hope the writers make a connection between Victor and Rahim because I really enjoyed their chemistry. Benji is cool and all, but realistically speaking, teenage relationships are hardly meant to be forever.

#TeamRahim.

IDK HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS
joachimmonares15 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I would love to see Benji and Victor still being together, but yet I also like Sahar a lot, immm.. so confused.... and it was a classical cliffhanger, cause now I know that season 3 is about to happen, I like Benji a lot, and its clear from the Cliff Hanger that Victor is at Sahar's door, that means he feels the same way Sahar feels, which is kinda a little weird to me cause the whole series is about Benji and Victor, but I never know, there is a lot of changes, which kinda gotten worse for me, Felix and Lake are not a thing anymore, Mia is moving out, Benji and Victor has separated, its a lot, I like Sahar, its just that I felt closer to Benji, and Victor did kinda pushed the boundaries a little too far, he broke Benji's trust, right now, what I think about the season, Victor has gotten worse for me, and Lake and Mia are still my favorites, looking forward to what season 3 is gonna bring.

Pick Benji !!!!!!
williamdavidjones12 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think Victor has treated Benji unfairly but I think with all that happened they are meant for one another, Benji is the nicest, deepest person I've seen in any tv show and I'd love to have a boyfriend like him. Rahim, is not that, he is cliche and there's a million million of him, so I give this a 5 as last time it was a nice cliff hanger, now it's a horrible one I'm going to stress about as this has been the only love story I've cared about for ages and I don't want even my fantasies crushed, I've had too much of that in my real life to deal with, please for everyone's sake pick Benji.

If I could, I would give 11 out of 10 to Love Victor but...

Warning: Spoilers
...For sure *NOT* to the last episode of the second season. Don't get me wrong, please: I love this show deeply and I gave 10/10 to it as a whole (you can find my general review in IMDB to see my mark). If I only had this show in TV when I was 18/20 years old, many of my hardest times would have been much easier to overcome and my life would have been better for sure, just starting from the period in which I was a scared but determined teenager. When I think about those days and I compare them to the current situation, above all here in Italy, I'm so happy and relieved for the LGBTQ+ youth, and for the powerful & positive message that "Love, Victor", in particular, gives to all of us. The series deals with many different and difficult themes, and I'm glad to underline that it makes it in a wonderful, detailed and highly plausible way.

All the actors play his/her own role so perfectly that it's impossible not to love them all... Victor, Benji, Felix, Lake, Mason and all the others characters quickly becomes part of everyone's imagination. I can spend only *phenomenal* adjectives for all the different emotions they give us while their stories comes to life on the screen. I would like to embrace them warmly to have touched my heart in such a intensely and unhoped way.

Moreover, the love story between Victor and Benji is the most precious and the most unforgettable that I could imagine to see... I literally cried the first time they *finally* kissed, and I was so happy to see them grow step by step. Unfortunately -maybe to let this couple face the obstacles that every relation meet in real life- the authors introduced in the last episodes a new character that, in a blink of an eye, becomes the third point of an undesirable triangle that nobody wants (certainly, not me). It was a real punch right in my face, just a cruel and awful way to close the second season. This is the reason why I personally give a virtual "zero" to the episode 2.10. A clear message for the ones who had this horrible and unbearable idea.

However, I'm sure that the things will be slowly and painstakingly fixed during the third season, and we will see how Victor & Benji will be able to grow up enough to learn how to communicate their feelings without hurting each other and hiding anything from each other's hearts. It will be a difficult path but, at the end, their "I love you's" will be even deeper and truer than the ones we already heard and we will finally live a memorable and deserved relief.

Now we just have to be very, very, very patient, while we wait for them to be together again! J

Ps: Useless to say, Team Venji F-O-R-E-V-E-R, obviously!

PS2: All my compliments to the fabulous George Sear. What a wonderful, talented, sweet (and gorgeous) guy, folks! His performance in "Love, Victor" was simply stunning. I cried so much, I sobbed so much, I remembered so well every single moment I lived when I was 18, and I was in Victor's shoes and I hoped so deeply to have a boyfriend right by my side, someone who was patient and thoughtful and sweet like Benji! He gave me shivers all the time... He cast his spell, and I had no choice but crying a river of tears remembering those magical, sad and lost days of my past... Thank you with all my heart, George, I wish you all the best for your personal life. I'm sure your huge and clear talents will be largely known in the incoming years and you'll achieve all your greatest aims!

The writers need to understand logic.
apd819 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Isabel couldn't deal with the fact that Victor dated Benji. But when Rahim came into the family as a Pilar's friend, she seemed very welcoming and very ok about him being around while still had problems with Benji dating Vic. This is not about how she was raised or homophobic, it's Benjiphobic as she seemed to have problems only with him.

Then in this episode, she came to clear things up with Benji when the fire had already spread. This could not be undone. The apologies were for her to feel good about herself only.

BTW, Vic is truly the representative of the kid in 2022, i.e. Self-centered - very good job on building this characteristic. And he really did not waste a second to get on Rahim. "We are just friends." "Am I not allowed to have friends anymore?" Honestly? Lying to yourself much?
