Up until episode 5, the second season of DAVE has been pretty clunky with a dearth of high points, an unlikeable lead, and a strange change in tone from the previous season that just hasn't worked for me. Enter episode 5, "Bar Mitzvah." This had it all: drama and tension with nice character arcs for Dave and Elz, some genuine laughs, and a GaTa rap solo that has the character getting his well-earned dues to close it out. This one plastered a big smile on my face that lasted long past the end credits. "Bar Mitzvah" is the best episode of season 2 so far - by far.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm rooting for Gata!! I'm enjoying his character development so far this season. Mike lying about having a 6 year old to Mr. Moskowitz had me cracking up, the tee ball story was absurdly funny. Good to see Dave and Elz friendship back on the mend by the end of the episode hopefully they can get back to work on Dave's album before the season ended 😆
