Not so much a review as a comment from an occasional "Simpsons" viewer. This episode caught my interest for a fleeting reference when back-storying Comic Book Guy's childhood. Seems his father was a philatelist (stamp-collector, duh!). In the space of about two seconds, he refers to the prize of his collection which he calls the "inverted Termonde". A split-second accurate image of the stamp is shown.
Interestingly, this stamp actually exists, being a misprinted rarity (center printed upside down) of Belgium from 1920 worth about 75K.
One of the writers is obviously a Belgian stamp collector. I have always appreciated the detail and often arcane references which are snuck into many Simpsons' episodes. This particular story detail probably resonated with less than a dozen people in TV land, but they stuck it in anyway.

The episode has something the show has been lacking... good writing. The story works pretty smoothly and the comic book's guy backstory/origin is interesting but the main cast plays a marginal role and some characters break character... the voice acting seems more lazy as if they just quickly read the lines without nuance to get it over with asap (mostly bart/lisa/marge) i hope im wrong
Great Episode!!!

"This one seems all right". Well written fun backstory. Worth it!

"Hold on, this one seems all right. A little stuck up but all right!"
Unpretentious, well written episode. I liked it! Fun backstory of one of the iconic non named characters ( there is actually a little inside joke/teaser hinting for a second to the name revelation that of course is dismissed soon after. Doh!) with high quality references that affect even the style of the scenes. Worth to be watched. The references to the cinema of a certain famous director are not all obvious, I had to read about it to catch all of them. But very good use of it! Great ending song oh la la by Faces. Fun and on spot also the representation of the nerd-based relationship.

This episode was pretty good! Especially the "Back to the Future" reference. This episode reminds me of good times back in 2020, but I can't believe this episode was actually good. Let us hope that the next episode is good, keep up the great work Simpsons!
A strong daddy vibe.

A good background for the comic book guy.
A beautiful story act.
A happy end.
The Simpsons have their difficulties, the format is diminishing in potential, but then such episodes come from time to time and I wonder why not more often. Not every episode needs forced jokes if you can write a storyline from time to time. Definitely one of the strongest follow this season.
I would like us to deal with background figures more often.

Sweet and unique!!

I loved the side character backstory, the different style of animation, the emotional sweetness and depth, and all of the hilarious one liners!
I'm not one of those people who thinks the Simpsons has "gone downhill;" it may have gotten worse in some ways over the years (though I can't necessarily pinpoint how), but it's absolutely gotten better in others. The writing in particular continues to impress me.
It's also hard to get me to care about side characters in any show so well done to them for that. If the main family wasn't on it at all I almost certainly would have liked it less, so thank goodness they were!!

Reminiscent of golden era

Warning: Spoilers
A very touching episode written by Ryan Koh. Even though The Dad-Feelings Limited is well outside the Golden era (the first 10 seasons in my humble opinion), this episode can hold its head up high and be considered a golden epiaode.
Dan Aykroyd is the Postage Stamp Fellow, Bob Balaban is the narrator, and Jenny Yokobori is Kumiko, who had a prominent role in this superb episode. I haven't seen many Wes Anderson movies but I loved Rushmore and the Ooh La La song at the end was reminiscent of Rushmore which I liked..
All is not lost with the Simpsons so this episode is worth watching for sure.
